Hive Open Mic Week 292 – Tú mi Alfarero | Cover by @Rosana6

Hello, friends of the Hive Open Mic community! It's a pleasure to greet you and share my music with you again. For week 292, we have the theme “Moving Mountains,” an expression that immediately makes me think of faith.

We all know the saying that faith moves mountains. Believing that anything is possible with God's help is a very powerful and comforting tool. For me, faith is having the expectation that something good can happen in our lives, even if we have no proof of it, and it is that confidence that allows us to anticipate positively even though we cannot yet see anything concrete. Faith is one of the theological virtues, along with hope and charity, all of which are freely given by our Creator Father through His Holy Spirit and His Son Jesus Christ as important and necessary tools for a life marked by God's love and peace.

On this occasion, I would like to present a beautiful song called Tú mi Alfarero (You my Potter) performed by Chilean nun and singer Glenda Hernández Aguayo, better known as Sister Glenda, from her album A Solas con Dios (Alone with God), released in 2009. I relate the song to the theme because sometimes we may feel that our faith has weakened and perhaps we believe that we have strayed from God and begin to see life from a place of darkness. However, those of us who truly believe that Jesus is perfect love and is always willing to forgive and reconcile ask Him to be that potter capable of restoring us to good form and, above all, giving us the desire to move forward, hand in hand with Him, as renewed people ready to forge a better future. I hope many of you enjoy the presentation.

¿Acaso no puedes formarme?

Tu cacharro acaba de caerse
Acaba de quebrarse, acaba de encontrarte

Tú mi alfarero tú mi alfarero
Toma mi barro y vuelve a empezar de nuevo
Tú mi alfarero tú mi alfarero
Toma mi barro y vuelve a empezar de nuevo

De nuevo de nuevo, tú mi alfarero
De nuevo de nuevo, tú mi alfarero.

English Lyrics

You, my Potter

Spinning wheel, spinning wheel
I feel your hands on my clay
It amazes me to think that you want it

Your pot has just fallen
It has just broken; it has just found you

You, my potter, you, my potter
Take my clay and start again
You, my potter, you, my potter
Take my clay and start again

Spin, spin, roll, roll
I feel your hands on my clay
It amazes me to think that you want it
Can't you make me again?
Can't you shape me?

Your pot has just fallen
It has just broken; it has just found you

You, my potter, you, my potter
Take my clay and start again
You, my potter, you, my potter
Take my clay and start again

Again and again, you, my potter
Again and again, you, my potter.

Happy start to the week Rosana! I love listening to Hermanda Glenda's music on Hive Open Mic, and in fact, "A Solas Con Dios" is my favorite album by this amazing woman. Wow, her music suits you so well; you both have a similar, peaceful singing style, along with that subtle guitar accompaniment. Bravo! I'm so happy to see this video to start the week off right ❤️
