An Open Invitation For A Co-Creative Sound Experience Experiment…

avatar

So I’ve got this friend from Bali who’s a ‘clairvoyant/reader,’ and she’s pretty damn good. I was relistening to a session of ours from a year & half ago, in which she passed on the question: ’why aren’t you creating like sound experiences for people?’

Like, some combination of frequencies like 432hz or 528hz, binaural beats, etc for specific ‘therapeutic’ purposes such as trauma release, overcoming addictions, etc, etc.

My reaction was sorta the same now as back then… ’I don’t fucking know what I’d be doing with that.’

Like, sure, I could slap together some stuff and say it is for xyz… but in honesty, it’d feel like I was just bullshitting people, an imposter making claims with nothing to back it up. Or even if working on the basis of stuff that’s been said to be - i.e. 1052hz is good for this, this brainwave of binaural beats is good for that, etc - it’d just be working based on theory and presented without any real solid belief of my own that it’s actually gonna help anyone with anything. As much as I know there’s something to sound therapy and I may personally be into realms others would categorize as ‘woofuckery,’ I’m in no way comfortable presenting anything to the word with claims that it’s gonna guarantee whatever results - especially when I have zero confidence it would.

Nonetheless, I forgot about this idea… but here it popped up back again. And she & ‘her guides’ seemed kinda adamant about it.

Meanwhile, I’ve felt rather stagnant with music, haven’t really felt like I’ve been offering much of value to anyone, and gotta admit that if that idea were somehow to actually come to fruition, it’d no doubt be of some value and purpose greater than what I’ve produced sitting on my ass waiting for some larger, clearer Divine inspiration or some shit.

So, say I were to move forward with this “sound experience” thing… where to start? It feels like I’d just be pulling stuff out of my ass to devise some random idea and start it on my own. Thus, another idea for a starting point: this open invitation for a collaborative initiation here…

Opening to all/any ideas here & now…

If you could put in a request for a sound experience - something maybe 5-10 minutes in length to listen to with full focus on headphones & eyes closed - with a specific set intention/purpose, what would it be?

Personally, I’m feeling limited on ideas here, resorting to typical played-out “meditations” on topics like motivation for xyz, help releasing abc, overcoming lmnop, etc, etc. And maybe those are valuable to some people and would be a reasonable intention for some productions that i might be open to creating upon request. Though there are surely other ideas as well that are completely in my blind spots - and perhaps totally pointless in trying to see and produce unless they’re brought to light by someone else - i.e. YOU - who might actually see some value in and want them.

So… IF there is ANY ideas coming to mind and you’d like to participate in this experience simply by sharing the idea, listening to the result if/when it comes to fruition on my end, and providing feedback afterwards, the floor is yours.

I can’t promise I’ll actually carry through on making it/them, lol. And I can’t promise any actual results. But hey, it’s an experiment after all…

Ah, yesss, purrfect! ^^
I have exactly something like that that would be highly beneficial.. I would need 'the soothing effects of submerging in water' in musical form, please, authority, timing, and creativity permitting.

Make sure you don't overthink and overanalyze it though. You'll gonna have to step aside and allow just the intention and pure creativity to guide the process.

These are perfectly acceptable terms and conditions. I do love a good experiment though! ^^
Too damn excited about this.. ^^

I had a sense you'd come through on this, lol.

ok... started it... and question, for some custom additions: what are 3 of your favorite songs (with lyrics)?

xD What kind of impossible question is this? xD xD
(spends the whole day going through all the time capsule playlists to compose the favourites of favourites master playlist)
But that's still some 60+ songs or so. How am I to reduce this to 3? :D
I am also disappointed in the 'with lyrics' restriction, as it automatically discards some of the best songs ever (like Cliff Martinez - We Don't Have to Think Like That Anymore; Two Fingers - Fools Rhythm; Daft Punk - Solar Sailer or Derek Feichter - Tribal Dryads just to name a few)
I could go on a whole tangent about my favourite music and my journey with it. 'With lyrics' part also suddenly made me extremely self-conscious about the messaging that I've been programming my subconscious with for decades and looking back it kind of all makes sense, but it is also a bit of a chicken and egg situation - who knows what came first the patterns and thus the gravitational pull towards that kind of music or vice versa..

So the 'short' answer is gonna be -
1. Let's start off with the earliest favourite song of mine that I can recall - Shakespear's Sister - Stay https://open.spotify.com/track/6Mcoqi1iK28djC2EClVwDj?si=67c0dc968d8b4fff (Phantom of the Opera was a reeealy close second, so it appears the 6-ish-year-old me had a definite flair for the dramatic xD)

2. This one for whatever reason is not on Spotify, but it's an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. Blue Foundation - Sweep

I'd even go as far as to say that this 11-minute-long piece is at least a level beyond just music.. it's a whole experience.

3. Annie Lennox has been my emotional comfort music since preteen years, and even though I have a whole separate playlist with her music in the specific order that my brain needs them to be, I kid you not - Waiting In Vain - was my hands down favourite, with Cold coming up a close second. And that was me not understanding the lyrics back then.. xD Chicken. Egg. Go figure.

I'm not sure if this is of any help to you actually but had an absolute blast today sorting through my music and compiling the playlist. If you find it helpful, feel free to check out the full thing, just be forewarned that as a playlist it makes absolutely zero sense unless you've lived as a Josie.. xD You mentioned musical ADHD once.. well.. :D I have put together things that should NEVER be in one playlist.. :D

Welp, at leats I had fun!

Hahaha!

Definitely wasn’t an absolute requirement for just three, nor intended it to be such a serious matter. Lol.

Just had an idea to work with integrating some samples from stuff you particularly like, but didn’t want to limit to just one song in case there wasn’t anything that’d fit so well - thus expanding out the range to select from a bit.

Can surely find something within all this to work with… 🎶💧

I genuinely needed this and I didn't even know it. This was indeed therapeutic. So thank you for the prompt. ^^

Came to this post after reading your most recent one, kind of wished I had read this one first, but anyways.
I've been told quiet a few times by different people, that I carry a lot of ancestral trauma/baggage with me, that it is always there hanging over me.
So I request a piece of music that allows me to tap into that trauma, to connect with my ancestors and finally release it.
That's what came to my mind xxxx

Cool.

What heritage/ethnicity is your ancestral background?

(Right away, got idea to include sounds from wherever that may be)
