Why is everything so perfect?

The little girl gazed in wonder at the starry sky from her window. At six years old, the perfection that reigned in every corner of the universe was a mystery to her: the symmetrical shapes of the flowers, the harmonious cycle of the stars, the unique beauty of every human being.

-Why is everything so perfect, grandmother? -she asked with her innocent gaze.

Her grandmother, a wise and believing woman, gave her a warm smile.

-Because there is a heavenly plan drawn up by God, my child. He is the architect of all this wonder that surrounds us.

She frowned in confusion.

-But then why do people sin and do bad things?

The old woman stroked her hair tenderly.

-Because sin is also part of God's plan. It is the opportunity God gives us to make mistakes, to learn and to grow. The important thing is to repent sincerely and humbly when we go astray.

The girl nodded, feeling that her grandmother's words unlocked one of life's great mysteries. In that moment, she knew that her heart harboured the seed of faith.
