Thief of sighs

The sun was setting on the horizon, turning the sea orange when she reached the beach.
Amidst the tide of people strolling, she made out his figure: he was leaning against a lighthouse, his gaze lost in the sunset.
She had always longed for him, intoxicated by his scent of iodine and breeze.
As she approached, he noticed her and, without a word, kissed her. It was an intense, deep kiss, like a stifled sigh that swept through her body in waves of heat.
When they broke apart, she could still taste the salt on his lips and see the stars twinkle in his clear eyes.
-Why now? -she asked in surprise.
He smiled mischievously
-Because I couldn't wait any longer, your desire stole my soul.
From then on, they met every night on the beach to indulge in the sizzling kiss that transported them to unknown worlds.
Soon the craving became an addiction and she knew she could never break free from the spell of that thief of sighs.
