As a child he idolised the actress. He treasured magazine clippings of her photographs and watched her films over and over again, enraptured by her ethereal beauty.
In his mind, he had made her the perfect woman.
One day, he had the opportunity to meet her in person at a charity event.
His heart pounding, he lined up to get her autograph, imagining what it would be like to talk to the muse he had admired for years.
But when he finally stood in front of her, his illusion was shattered, she wasn't as impressive in real life, worse, her personality was far from the sweetness she projected on screen, disillusioned, Carlos left without a word.
Back home, he sought solace in his old magazines and films, where the actress was still the spitting image of perfection.
He preferred to cling to that illusion rather than accept the disappointing reality, sometimes dreaming was so much better.
