The night enveloped him in its dark cloak as his footsteps echoed lonely in the deserted streets. Every corner, every shadow cast by the streetlights, reminded him of her.
Her silhouette seemed to loom fleetingly, only to vanish as he tried to catch her in his arms.
He relived the happy moments when they had walked along those same pavements holding hands, laughing in the dim moonlight. Now, only nostalgic memories remained, haunting him relentlessly.
With empty hands, clutching at the memories that burned in his chest, he desperately searched for the vestiges of that love that had abandoned him.
How to put back together the fragments of a shattered heart, how to quench that incessant longing to feel her warm breath on his skin again?
The night hung over him, endless and lonely, as he wandered aimlessly, trapped in a labyrinth of memories that only came to life under his pillow, far from the real world that no longer made sense without her.
