Letter to life

I am writing to thank you for everything I have lived through, the sorrows and joys, the past loves.

I still remember my childhood playing happily in the neighbourhood, then full of innocence, happy and unaware of the future.

There was never a lack of paternal affection or the typical fraternal quarrels, beautiful in the end.

Today I share with my children anecdotes of yesterday, how I fell and got up, my first borrowed bicycle, children's songs that I still enjoy with wisdom.

I am grateful for experiences, like feeling the river swell or the first touch of love, seeing the seed grow in my womb and lulling my children to sleep.

God grants me to go on, to see my children grow and to feel alive. Soon the end will come, my hair announces the autumn and the wrinkles the long journey.

I am grateful for every breath and moment given to me. Pause, life, to bless you before embarking on the last exodus.

Thank you for allowing me to keep breathing!
