Estoy emocionado y se preguntarán por cual razón, pues desde hace mucho tiempo he ejecutado la mandolina en todas mis presentaciones de vibes, pero queria aparte de recordar ciertas cosas, demostrar algo diferente en esta semana, se que a lo mejor no conocerán la música que estoy ejecutando y tampoco el instrumento.

Les explico en mis inicios de la música comencé con un instrumento llamado el Cuatro Venezolano, instrumento típico de acá el cual cuenta con cuatro cuerdas, antes de seguir con la mandolina, este instrumento lo ejecute por algunos años pero tenía un nivel muy básico. Después de un tiempo cuando me habían cambiado a la mandolina, decidí un día retomar la practica del cuatro venezolano para tratar de mejorar y me llamó mucho la atención una tendencia que se estaba tomando, llamada "el cuatro solista", este buscaba implementar nuevas técnicas, tanto percutivas, rítmicas y melódicas haciendo que la ejecución del instrumento podía abarcar todo esto.

Pude aprender ciertas cosas sobre la ejecución del cuatro solista, pero claro al no mantener la constante práctica y aprender cosas nuevas te quedas estancado en el mismo nivel. Hoy me propuse recordar los tiempos cuando tocaba este instrumento, tratando de realizar un tema Venezolano llamado "PAJARILLO" en el cuatro solista.

El pajarillo pertenece a la parte de los llanos venezolanos, algo típico y que nos representa como País, es un lenguaje musical con estructuras fijas y donde se ha hecho la costumbre de demostrar el nivel del ejecutante de un instrumento, con improvisacion dentro de esta patrón reconocible, con vistuosismo y mucha velocidad.

Así que aquí les dejo mi versión de este tema, algunas improvisaciones muy personales, y la implementación de varias técnicas percutivas y de agilidad, espero les guste.

I am excited and you may wonder for what reason, because for a long time I have played the mandolin in all my vibes presentations, but I wanted besides remembering certain things, to demonstrate something different this week, I know that maybe you do not know the music I'm playing and neither the instrument.

Let me explain that in my beginnings in music I started with an instrument called the Venezuelan Cuatro, a typical instrument from here which has four strings, before continuing with the mandolin, I played this instrument for some years but I had a very basic level. After a while when I had changed to the mandolin, I decided one day to resume the practice of the Venezuelan cuatro to try to improve and I was very struck by a trend that was taking, called "the soloist cuatro", this sought to implement new techniques, both percussive, rhythmic and melodic making the execution of the instrument could cover all this.

I was able to learn certain things about the execution of the cuatro soloist, but of course if you don't keep the constant practice and learn new things you get stuck at the same level. Today I decided to remember the times when I played this instrument, trying to perform a Venezuelan song called "PAJARILLO" in the solo cuatro.

The pajarillo belongs to the Venezuelan plains, something typical and that represents us as a country, is a musical language with fixed structures and where it has become the custom to demonstrate the level of the performer of an instrument, with improvisation within this recognizable pattern, with vistuosity and a lot of speed.

So here I leave you my version of this theme, some very personal improvisations, and the implementation of various percussive and agility techniques, I hope you like it.
