Mandisa, 'American Idol' singer and Grammy winner, dies at 47

Grammy-winning vocalist Mandisa, who rose to distinction on season five of "American Symbol," has passed on, her delegate said Friday. She was 47.

"We can affirm that yesterday Mandisa was viewed as in her home departed," her delegate said in an explanation to NBC News. "Right now we don't have the foggiest idea about the reason for death or any further subtleties."

"We request your requests for her family and affectionate circles during this staggeringly troublesome time," the assertion closed.

She was found dead in her Nashville home, as per The Tennessean.

A post on the craftsman's Facebook page said early Friday: "Mandisa was a voice of consolation and truth to individuals confronting life's difficulties from one side of the planet to the other. She composed this tune for a dear companion who had passed in 2017."

"Her own words say all that needs to be said. I'm as of now home/You must lay it down/because Jesus holds me now —/And I'm in good company."

The vocalist, whose complete name is Mandisa Lynn Hundley, shot to fame in the wake of putting 10th on "American Symbol." She proceeded to win a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Collection in 2014 for her collection "Overcomer."

Initially from Sacramento, California, Mandisa grew up singing in chapel and concentrated on vocal execution at American Stream School, and proceeded with her examinations at Fisk College in Nashville, Tennessee, as per her record name craftsman bio. After school, she filled in as a meeting and reinforcement singers for craftsmen including Shania Twain and Trisha Yearwood prior to going on "American Symbol."

In 2017, the vocalist told "Great Morning America" that she fell into a profound melancholy in 2014 and nearly ended her own life following the demise of her dear companion, Lakisha Mitchell, who had bosom disease.

"It got quite terrible — to the place where in the event that I had not gotten off that street I wouldn't be staying here today," Mandisa said. "I was this near standing by listening to that voice that told me, 'You can be with Jesus at the present time, Mandisa. You should simply end your life.'"

"It practically worked out. However, God is what I say. He saved my life straightforwardly," she added.

She uncovered that in her dim state, she depended on close to home eating and disengagement.

Mandisa had delivered six studio collections, the last being 2017's "Out of the Dull."

Recognitions poured in following fresh insight about Mandisa's passing.

"Her thoughtfulness was epic, her grin electric, her voice enormous, yet it was no counterpart for the size of her heart," Christian radio broadcast K-LOVE Boss Media Official David Pierce shared.

"Mandisa battled, and she was sufficiently weak to impart that to us, which assisted us with discussing our own battles. Mandisa's battles are finished, she is with the God she sang at this point. While we are disheartened, Mandisa is home. We're appealing to God for Mandisa's loved ones and request that you go along with us," he added.

"Great Morning America" have Robin Roberts composed on X: "My heart is weighty finding out about Mandisa. Unimaginably honored that she was there my most memorable day back on ⁦@GMA ⁩ following my long clinical leave. Her wonderful music and soul lifted me and incalculable others."

Artist Matthew West, who recorded the 2007 two part harmony "Christmas Makes Me Cry" with Mandisa, said: "I am so staggeringly disheartened to catch wind of the deficiency of my companion Mandisa. I will continuously love the recollections of times we spent together facilitating grant shows, going on visit, and most assisting her recount to her story in the songwriting with staying."
