“Rock Clandestino” fue el primer Periódico de Rock y Rap Latino en New York. Fue establecido en Queens, Nueva York, en el año 2000 y creado por un inmigrante argentino que residía en la misma ciudad. El formato del periódico era tabloide y su primera edición constó de 1000 ejemplares distribuidos de manera gratuita. Su creación fue algo fortuita, ya que Fabio Larocca, su fundador, nunca imaginó trabajar como periodista, mucho menos fundar un periódico, y menos aún, prever todo lo que sucedería después.

Comienzos

La increíble historia de Rock Clandestino comienza en el año 1999 cuando Fabio escribe su primera nota sobre el rock en español para el Diario Hoy. Este diario era el más importante periódico en español que, en aquellos años, tenía una tirada de 250,000 ejemplares diarios y formaba parte del Grupo Newsday, Chicago Tribune.

De esta forma las primeras páginas del rock en español en los Estados Unidos fueron escritas en Nueva York, siendo más exactos en el Barrio de Queens, y lo que era un taller de letreros en la calle 87 Th St., casi esquina con Northen Blv, termino convirtiéndose en la editorial del mas importante medio de música alternativa y de Rap de los Estados Unidos en esa época.

Fue también un refugio para artistas, músicos y bohemios de un movimiento emergente de los músicos emergentes latinoamericanos en Nueva York. Mexicanos, ecuatorianos, colombianos, argentinos, españoles y de todos los países de habla hispana llenaron las páginas y los clubes de la ciudad, La OEA del Rock, como lo recuerda Fabio. “Icono” era el nombre de ese taller, un espacio mágico… solo para locos.

El Presente

Esta es la presentación de una maravillosa historia de la música en español, que se escribió en un mercado cultural anglosajón. De todas formas, New York romántica y decadente abrió sus puertas a toda una nueva cultura musical. Ahora rockclandestino.com se edita online, desde la Ciudad de Buenos Aires e incorpora a músicos de todos los países de habla castellana. Su hijo Leonel @cre47iv3 lo introdujo en la comunidad HIVE en el primer Meet Up realizado en Argentina para el año 2022. Hive, es muy importante para expandir la música emergente y una excelente herramienta para la promoción de estos grandes artistas, mismos que serán presentados en esta blockchain van a crear sus usuarios siendo tutelados para sus primeros post

"Rock Clandestino was the first Latin Rock and Rap Newspaper in New York. It was established in Queens, New York, in the year 2000 and created by an Argentinean immigrant who lived in the same city. Beginnings

The incredible history of Rock Clandestino began in 1999 when Fabio wrote his first article about rock in Spanish for Diario Hoy. This newspaper was the most important Spanish language newspaper that, in those years, had a circulation of 250,000 copies per day and was part of the Newsday Group, Chicago Tribune.

Fabio Larocca in 2001, in the first editorial office of the newspaper Rock Clandestino, which at that time also operated as a sign business.

His son Leonel @cre47iv3 introduced him to the HIVE community at the first Meet Up held in Argentina in 2022.
