A change in genres
I've been quite religiously listening to the blue genre for over a year now...
It's not like I've found a new love in the genre itself, because I've been listening to the blues for close to a decade now, but recently I've been leaning towards the blues more than ever.
Why?
I don't have an answer to that. However, the common answer would be, because it just feels right...
From the vigorous performance by Howlin' Wolf's - Smokestack Lightning to the soulful St. Paul and the Broken Bones' - That Glow, with a touch of their old-school charm. The blues genre has it all. Yes, the blues and soul genres aren't for everyone. Hell! I can't even name more than 5 people who might actually like the blues/soul songs I listen to.
However, the songs I've been listening to in the past week to two weeks, are "well-known" songs. A lot of people will recognize these songs, especially the people here in Bangladesh.
I've been listening to Shoroloar Protima since I was a kid, and even though I didn't understand much about the song back then, I probably understand it now better than ever. And it's not always about understanding the lyrics and the song, sometimes you just feel it, and yes, songs can be felt; especially when it's relatable.
Even though I knew about Warfaze since I was a kid and Purnota has been out for over a decade now, I only started listening to it on repeat just recently. It is a classic, loved by most, but I, however, am quite late to the party.
Yet, I'm here now. Better late than never, eh?
Conclusion's Porinita is a new one, and even though I never really listened to the original that much, the recent acoustic rendition has been on repeat for quite a few months now, on and off.
Since I've only shared English songs here before, I thought this time I should take a different approach.
Yes, many of you won't understand the lyrics, but I believe these songs will touch your soul in a certain, make you feel a certain way. As I mentioned before, you don't always have to understand the lyrics. Yet, if you're curious to know about the lyrics, a proper translation maybe, then Google is definitely your friend.
I actually don't understand the lyrics of both songs but the melodies were nice.
That's why I could listen for long
Sometimes, that's all you'll ever need when it comes to such songs...
