Hello and welcome to Hive Music Festival Week 141, Round 3, My name is @rishagamo, and I'm here with my dear brother in the Lord, @oluthomas. Together, we'll be presenting a cover of Donnie McClurkin's "Create in Me a Clean Heart."
This old song, originally sung in 2003, continues to touch lives around the world. It's a plea to the Lord, asking Him to create in us a clean heart so we can worship Him in spirit and in truth. Just as God calls us to come to Him in Isaiah 1:18, which says, "Come now, and let us reason together," saith the Lord. "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow," the song's lyrics still plead with God to create in us a clean heart and purify us so we can worship Him. We ask that He not cast us away from His presence but restore the joy of salvation in us, so that we may worship Him.
The presence of the Lord is full of joy. Remember what the Psalmist said: he was glad when they said, "Let us go to the house of the Lord." This highlights the communion in the act of worship and the joy that comes from worshiping God with other believers.
