"The Monster Walks" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen, gel pen, paint pen, liner pen, metallic marker, mechanical pencil, and colored pencil on white construction paper with digital embellishments and color.] Yeah, sure... The creature IS stomping through town, but it doesn't actually seem that interested in the screaming beings under its feet. It's just trying to get to jury duty before it gets a fine! ---Richard F. "I'm Not Sorry" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Crayon, felt pen, and metallic marker on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color tweaking!] I'm really not. If I were younger and cared more, I probably would. I probably SHOULD. But no... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

I recorded and posted a very silly, nearly pointless, video on YoooTooobs... (Still not sorry!!! Ha!)

I ALSO updated my NEOCITIES site, cuz it's important to spend a lot of time and energy on projects that nobody looks at! I'm almost a HOLY MASTER at wasting time and energy, at this point! I can deplete just about ANYONE in a matter of seconds! MAGICK!!!

Here's where I get silly, and nobody is going to care about any of this but me. However, since this is my post, I'm going to type it all out anyway, cuz I'm like that! As the day progressed and I continued to work on the computer in the backyard, my original playlist finished. (It was just a bit more than an hour worth of tunes.) At this point, I re-edited the list a bit and got it re-rolling! I took a few songs off, for various reasons:
A. "The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet" by The Mothers because it is really long and makes a lot of UNCOMFORTABLE noises, and since the neighbors were also in their backyard, I didn't want them thinking I was watching porn on the other side of the fence...
B. "Grah Statikcat (Electrodes)" by cEvin Key, who is a longtime member of Canadian Industrial/Psychedelic/Spooky act, SKINNY PUPPY. It's a good song, but mostly instrumental and a bit squealy for my mood today.
C. "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue" by Evil Dick cuz it's noisy, abstract jazz-rock, and I like it, but again, not my current mood.
and D. "Sheep" by Pink Floyd. I swapped this one for their song "Time," instead.
Then, I added a couple new tracks. Here's the "FINAL (???)" playlist for the day:
- "D Minus" by Zero Zero
- "Groove Check (Check This Groove Out)" by That Petrol Emotion
- "Forklift Simulator" by Sbassbear feat. Game Grumps
- "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles
- "Possessed (Nathan Micay's Energize Therapy Remix)" by Nocturnal Sunshine & Maya Jane Coles feat. Peaches
- "Rasputin's Mystic Frozen Appendage Pt. 1 & 2" by The Luvmenauts feat. Adam Beer-Colacino
- "Nearly Lost You" by Screaming Trees
- "Set for Death" by The Death Set
- "Dead Shoe" by The Black Belles
- "Please Don't Go" by KC & The Sunshine Band

"Interior Masks" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen, gel pen, and colored pencil on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] The SHAMAN takes on the mask, and thus the role, of the spirit that has the most power over the situation at hand. Exorcism is unnecessary, if communication is clear... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

It's been a few days since my last post. I've been busy hanging with the grandkid, who finished pre-school a few days ago, and is thus out of the summer! (Cue the Alice Cooper song!!!)
Thus, I've spent much less time online than usual. Perhaps next week will be more productive?

'what you find in the forest' by richard f. yates [holy fool]
[felt pen, paint pen, and metallic marker on printed paper with digital embellishments and color tweaking.] my older daughter, frankie, made me a book out of found papers, scrapbook supplies, and other bits, all bound together with a green spine, and i took to it with all of my pens and weird art mechanisms... only took me about two days to fill the entire book... that's the kind of guy i am...

'economic value' by richard f. yates [holy fool]
[digital drawing created with a no-longer-supported, free app on my phone] at this point in my life, i'm just not fucking interested in economic value. i can't take it with me. what i am interested in, however, is meaning... shit has to be fun or funny or entertaining or disturbing or some shit or i'm just not interested anymore. i have grandkids, and i hope that they live a long, long time, but i know my time is limited, so i'm more interested in having a good time right now than i am in 'investing in the future.' fuck that. like the sex pistols said, 'no future,' mutha fuckas... just do what you're going to do and try to have fun, already....
