Meet my favourite "The Weekend"

Growing up, The Weeknd had a difficult childhood and experienced poverty, homelessness, and at times, violence. Despite these challenges, he found solace in music and taught himself to sing and write songs. After dropping out of high school, The Weeknd started uploading his music on the internet in 2010. He chose The Weeknd as his stage name after leaving home one weekend when he was 17. Though he has chosen to go by his real name Abel Tesfaye saying he wants to "be reborn".

In 2014, his single "Earned It" made him famous and as his fans grew, he began writing more songs. Not only does The Weeknd make quality music, he goes above and beyond to make sure that he lives the music that he's creating i.e The Weeknd will create a character on an album and stick to it throughout his promotion of the album.

He has listed Michael Jackson and Prince as his vocal inspiration.

He is officially the most popular artist in the world according to Guinness World Records (GWR).
As of April 2024, the Canadian singer is the male artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify.

From food aid to educational support to social justice, The Weeknd uses his fame and fortune to help those in need. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Weekend began creating facemasks under his brand XO. With the proceeds, he donated $500,000 CAD to his hometown of Scarborough, Toronto's Health Network.
In conclusion, The Weeknd is a talented artist and role model who has overcome adversity and used his success to make a positive impact on the world. I believe we can all learn from his honesty, resilience, and generosity.
