Hello everybody! 😊

How are you doing?

I´m good. Autumn is here and I am happy to be able to sit at home more now and work on my stuff and listen to Halloween music. 😄

Today I want to show you a new project for musicians and fans where a friend of mine - Christopher - is working on:

SONGCARDS

This is what Songcards is about

Songcards is a new format for selling music as a digital collectable.

Founded and developed by Christopher Carvalho, who had the idea of a new way to help artists get more value out of their social media efforts.

A Songcard contains at least one song, one piece of artwork, and can contain an array of bonus material provided by the creator.

Collectors can then unlock their rewards by logging into their account and listen to the music in the Songcards mobile app (currently in development).

The overarching concept is what Christopher calls Proof Of Fan. This is how artists know exactly who their superfans are and for fans to show off their collections online via their Collectors Page.

Songcards is currently in beta, onboarding new independent music every week.

Check it out on: https://beta.songcards.io

Get to know the person behind Songcards

Christopher has worked across the artist services sector as a content writer, artist manager and consultant. He has helped thousands of musicians from over the globe create and release their music. By providing services, tutorials, articles and online courses, Christopher works to solve the problems had by independent artists via the Unlock Your Sound platform. Chris has worked with brands across the industry including Tunecore, Distrokid, LANDR, Music Ally, MySphera, ACM, and Pirate Studios.

I love the idea!

I think in this tough music market we have during the last 15-20 years, it is important that something changes! It is important that professional musicians can make a living again from their complicated expertise where they put years in to learn it.

Today, people take music for granted that is available everywhere, always and for free. They don´t value the hard work behind it anymore. They don´t understand that musicians put hundreds, thousands of hours into it to make music for other people.

And it´s not just "music". For all of us it is solace, support in hard times and something that makes us feel better and gives us power whenever we need it!

Music is a highly valuable good and the world would be a very dull and sad place without music and art.
So it is important that we all help to make it valuable again, and value the work and pure honesty and personality the artist behind it puts into their songs. And Chris did the first step with his concept into this direction.

I recently joined the Beta and released my first Songcards! 🎉😍😄

I am pretty excited about this to be honest, because I think Chris did an important step into the right direction for us musicians. And hopefully the project will grow and sharpen the senses of people for needing to spend money for music they love so their favourite artists can keep going! 🖤

I put out my very first Raven song You Say To Me.

There is a Standard Edition which contains of the Original Version of You Say To Me plus the coverart. And a Collectors Edition which contains the Original Version plus coverart, 4 Remixes of the Song plus all 4 coverarts and unreleased behind-the-scenes photos of the creation and process of the song and photoshoot.

Like you can see here, the cards are limited in supply (66 pieces of the Standard Edition and 13 pieces of the Collectors Edition). The Proof of Fan concept can also be seen directly on the card, because everyone can see, who already collected this card.

The website has its own music player, so as a collector you can listen to the songs you bought directly on the page. Apart from that, you also get the songs and pictures which are included in the cards available as high quality download. You will have your own collection page where you can see all cards you collected.

As a musician you would have your own artist page where you can put a little message about you, like you see the one I did here.

I believe this is the beginning of a great project! Because I know Chris, he puts alot of effort and love into it and is very much interested in helping artists achieving a fair payment for their work.

🎵💛 I would ask you guys to take a minute and think about how and where music helped you in your life to make you feel better or to cope with things better; Where it helped you to experience great times with friend and unforgettable memories.

.
.
.

💜

Aren´t these memories worth supporting your favorite artists with all your love and respect? Aren´t they worth spending a few dollars on these artists´ music to help them continue to create great art?

A musicians life is not easy, he basically works for free most time of his life. And we all have the responsibility to change this again, to avoid creating a dull and boring world. 🖤

This is an important topic and post for me, so I thank you very much for reading it through! ❤️

Come join the beta of Songcards and be the change the world needs.

I wish you guys a great weekend and see you soon! 😊

@carvalhochris Songcards is a fantastic app - great design and easy to use.
@ravenmus1c I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have found this in the LeoFinance community trending feed. Not the place I would have expected to find new music. But I appreciate how this could revitalize the music market. It certainly excites me as a fan.

Thanks so much to both of you for Songcards and for your music.

Hello =) Thank you for your comment! Nice to meet you!
Yeah I posted it there, because it is not about my music in first place, but about the music market and the financial aspect behind it.
I am very happy that you like it as a fan! This is what we are hoping for!!
So thanks alot for your feedback! And also thank you for the follow and interest about my music. :)

This is an excellent idea! I've long been a proud user of Bandcamp, where I know the majority of my money spent $ goes directly to the artists, themselves, instead of lining the pockets of a CEO at a record label! If there's a way to preview at least a bit of a song, then songcards.io would be like Bandcamp with the addition of NFTs plus rewards for owning them! Fantastic!

Will this be incorporated into HIVE, or kept as a separate site? It would be awesome to login via HiveKeychain with our Hive credentials, and maybe even pay with HIVE/HBD in the future!

As a request to @carvalhochris: I'm in my 60s with age-related eyesight issues. A little more contrast on a few things would be nice, for the sake of readability, such as:

or maybe even BLACK text on that button. Thanks for the consideration of us old folks! 😁

Thanks for sharing this, Raven! 💜

Thank you for the feedback! You should be able to play the featured song of the Songcard by clicking on the title, let me know if there is an issue there. Thanks for the idea about contrast, leave it with me!

With regard to the Hive question, that's a great idea. I'll take a look at the API and see what's possible. If anyone in the dev team reads this, feel free to advise <3
