Let's bring back the love (we are the world)

Aside from football, one other thing that brings us together, irrespective of the country, tribe, or language, is music. Music has a way of connecting souls, irrespective of the distance. You will see an African song being played and listened to in European countries, and vice versa. Music has the power to heal and correct, and that is for anyone who knows the importance of music. Music is not just the beat or the rhythm; music is the message being passed across that connects with you in one way or another.

While surfing through the hive community this morning, I saw this community, and it made me happy because I've been searching for a while for a community that talks and appreciates music. It's my first time here, and I can say that while reading through some of the posts, I've been pleased.

Music is food for the soul; good music can make one turn a new leaf. I looked at our world today, and I see that lots of things are lacking, whereas it wasn't as bad as this before. Love is a forgotten issue in our world today; we can no longer sleep with our eyes closed, especially in a country like mine where insecurity is the order of the day. It has gone so bad that some countries are after the lives of foreigners living in their country. The question is, "How did we get here?".

There might not be an adequate answer to that because none of us knew how we got to this stage. So in a situation like this, "What can be done?" is another question yet unanswered. Why don't we take a good look back in time when everything was in order? A time when countries stood up to help one another, a time when there was no discrimination of any kind. When there was nothing like racism, what has changed?

To me, in the quest for power, every country wants to be powerful. The survival of the fittest, which in turn is ruining many relationships that would have built healthy nations, I was inspired by a song to write this post. I am a music lover. I listen to music a lot because, to me, music is part of what makes life beautiful. While going through my music archive, I came across an old song—a song that brought unison in times of need.

This was a song that stood as a comforter for Africans then, and I'm sure many would have forgotten it. "We Are the World" is a song by the late Michael Jackson featuring many other notable artists, such as Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, among many others. Some call it the USA for Africa; well, it was, and they aren't wrong. This was the time when love for humanity was genuine. They sure sent us their hearts, and we knew that they cared; they lent a hand to life, which was the greatest gift of all. This song is an inspiration to me anytime and any day.

This song.... the theme alone brought smiles my face.

Yeah, I do question, too. How did we get here? No love, and the presence of intense pain. The world is just a mess with humans.

Micheal Jackson being in this song was everything for me. I feel we need songs like this in our generation as the importance of unity can't be overemphasized, and yes! music has a great healing property.

We are the world. It's unfortunate that fence are being built in place of bridges. I look forward to a day that the world will come together to adopt peaceful ways of resolving disputes.
