God on the mountain

It's the weekend, and I would love to share with you all one of the songs that inspired me. It's a gospel song that I was privileged to listen to a few years ago through my father. This song speaks so much about faith and how decision-making is so easy when one is at the peak of one's life. When one is in a peaceful state of mind, things are easier said than done.

This was a song I performed at the Vibes Web3 Music Competition, and I got some comments that made me want to talk more about the song. This song is titled "God on the Mountain" by Bill and Gloria Gaither and resang by Lyndal Randle. It is an inspirational song that passes an intense message across to listeners.

This song cuts across two areas of life: the rich, who are the privileged ones, and the non-privileged, who can be referred to as the poor. The way a rich and comfortable person will reason will be so different from how a struggling poor person will reason. Also, their advice will vary; each of them will speak on his or her experiences, which will result in their different points of view.

And yes, it is so true. I've had the experience of taking advice from someone who has made it quite successfully in life and someone who is struggling to survive. It shows in their way of advising on where each of them is coming from.

This song is a pointer to believers that no matter your status in life, whether you are poor or rich, God is still the same, and he doesn't judge by status or financial capability; he judges with the heart. God never changes, irrespective of what you are going through at a particular time.

I took my time to listen to the lyrics over and over again until I got an understanding of what the singers were talking about. I would love to share the lyrics with you all.

Life is easy when you're up on the mountain.
And you've got peace of mind, like you've never known.
But things change when you're down in the valley.

Don't lose faith, for you're never alone.

For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley?
When things go wrong, he'll make them right.
And the God of the good times is still the God of the bad times.
The God of the day is still God in the night.

You talk of faith when you're up on the mountain.
But talk comes so easy when life's at its best.
Now it's down in the valleys of trials and temptations.
That's where your faith is really put to the test.

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley.
When things go wrong, he'll make them right.
And the God of the good times is still the God of the bad times.
The God of the day is still God in the night.
The God of the day is still God in the night.

How many of us can still take our stand when things change from the luxurious ones we are used to? Many won't be able to say the same thing they were saying when life was at its best for them. This song serves as an encouragement to people who are down in the valley (going through one trouble or another) not to lose faith because God on the mountain (the God of the rich) is still God in the valley (the God of the less privileged).

Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.

Nice song.
The rich and the poor mindset will continue to be on parallel line. The difference is clear

It's great to see how deeply this song has touched you. Your insights on rich vs. poor perspectives are spot on. God judges us based on our hearts and it does not matter what we have.

Thank you on providing such a wonderful insight to life. I now see the reason why this song meant a whole lot to you.

I tend to lean towards encouraging write-ups like this. It elevates ones soul and brings forth life. Nice✨

When things goes wrong in our life, its a pointer that we need to upgrade change certain things that no longer serve and drop certain habits. It's also a pointer to be steadfast Spiritually sadly not many people would see it as such, they'd rather see it as a punishment. Quite an interesting song can you please share the link to the Vibes contest you performed the song? would love to listen. Thank you 🙂
