Three Tune Tuesday #216 .:. Pop, Jazz, Surf and Retro

I selected three tunes from my three fave bands for today's #threetunetuesday. Immerse your soul in good music: Caro Emerald, Tiger Lillies, Messer Fur Frau Muller.

Caro Emerald - Back It Up

Caro Emerald was one of my greatest discoveries during last decade (alongside with Kovacs and Yma Sumaс). The music she creates is a mix of pop and jazz tunes with a cool refreshing notes of modern dj style (with scratching, vocoding etc). She is Dutch, and since I am a fan of Dutch design I was impressed a lot with the visual side too. She presents her music with amazing videoclips, full of humour and great sense of style. This one is an artistic masterpiece, a quint essence of retro style. Pay attention to the album's title itself: «Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor» - isnt it charming?

The Tiger Lillies - Heroin

Three evil clowns from Tiger Lillies trio share a good advise. If you want to win - take Heroin! a great video which perfectly conveys the artistic essence of this band. This song is not one of my faves, at list it is not in the short top-list. I prefer the one named 'Heroin and Cocaine' - but the visuals is very, very, very good!

Messer Fur Frau Muller - I like I

Excellent track from a great contemporary Russian band that you can see live - they tour Europe and US pretty often. The guys obsessed with 'vintage' sound and stylistics, retro movies, visuals, etc. The 'surf' sound in their performances is perfect - even better than it was in the time. I definitely include this tune in my faves list... and it is no way short - there are so many!
