I have recently been getting into gongs, out with the new and in with the old, I say.

This is a recording of my first time playing my new 22 inch dark wind gong.

As i throw away all these electronic gizmos, i will start to get gongs of increasing size, i will eventually create a gong the size of CERN to prove that they have been doing it wrong all along.

this one is dedicated to my late grandmother, hence the title, "Gong for Granny"

This is the first track off my new album, Music for Gong and Ciat-Lonbarde Synthesizers, which you can download for free here:

the other two tracks are far-out heavy synth jams, this gong performance is a littlr more laid back, but also it gets a bit chaotic at times.

I look forward to seeing what things I will create with this thing in the future! I am already working on ways to merge the gong with electronics, so that should be coming soon

Fascinating, your journey. But this isn't just a gong, is it? Some electronics and filters used for this track, or am I mistaken?

You call this laidback, I call it nicely heavy. Perhaps the low frequencies and the somewhat experimental approach give me the feel of being nicely heavy 😉

It's just gong! No fx or anything, although I think there is some digital artifacts that came in the mix from the compressor on on the mic or in the digital transfer

aahhh maybe I was hearing that. wow, ok, just a gong... you made a note of that in your post, but anyway, my ears or the two grey cells I have, may have included a bit more 😆

...and I only meant "laid back" compared to the two synth tracks on the album! 😂
