My Honest Take on How I Listen to Music
Let me give you my very honest opinion—when it comes to listening to music, I’ve tried it all. From tiny ear pods to those chunky over-ear headphones, and even blasting music through loudspeakers when I’m in the mood. Each one has its vibe, but if I had to choose a favorite, I’d say ear pods win hands down. Let me explain why.
First of all, those small, wireless ear pods are just too convenient. They’re super easy to carry, and the fact that I can just pop them in without any wires getting tangled is everything. The smaller ones are especially my go-to because sometimes people don’t even notice I have them on. That way, I can be walking around town, running errands, or even sitting on a bus just vibing, and nobody’s in my business. I use them not only for music but also for calls. I mean, who wants to bring out their phone and start holding it up in public when you can just talk freely through your ear pods? I’ve got three different types, and I’m not even ashamed to admit it. I charge all of them regularly, and if one dies, I switch immediately. It’s like my little backup plan. That alone should tell you how much I rate them.
Now, when I’m home and feeling relaxed—or when friends come over for a hangout—I switch it up a bit. That’s where my little MP3 player comes in. I know it sounds a bit wired, but trust me, the vibes it brings are unmatched. We often use it during game nights or when we’re trying out TikTok dance challenges.
Now let’s talk about the hanging headsets—you know, the big ones that go over your head. Honestly, I don’t even know why I bought them. Maybe it was peer pressure? Everyone around me was suddenly using them, and I started feeling left out. So I went ahead and got one too. Big mistake. Don’t get me wrong, the sound quality is nice and all, but I barely use it. They just sit there looking cute and gathering dust. I guess I’m more of a minimal, on-the-go type of person, and those headsets feel a little too extra for me.
And now to the one I absolutely dislike—wired earpieces. Ugh! Where do I even start? Carrying those wires around is a whole struggle on its own. You put them in your bag, and somehow they come out tangled like spaghetti. Plus, the discomfort is unreal. The wires keep getting caught on things, and they’re always pulling your ears. And why do they spoil so fast? I swear, one side always stops working after like two weeks, and you’re left fiddling with the plug, twisting it around just to hear the sound. One of my friends even licked the jack before plugging it in, saying it makes it work better—I’m sorry, but that’s just wild. On that note wired earpieces are a big no for me.
So that’s my listening journey in a nutshell. Whether I’m outdoors or chilling at home, I like to keep it wireless and simple. Ear pods and a good playlist are all I need. Though everyone’s got their preference. What about you? Are you team loudspeaker, team over-the-head headset, or team EarPods like me? Let’s get to interact .

I can relate to this so much. I also switch between my Earpods, speakers and even headphones 🎧 depending on how I feel and where I am. There's just something about having options that matches your mood - whether its zoning out in public with Earpods or vibing at home with a speaker. Loved how real and relatable this post was.
