There's a kind of hybrid stick you can get which is quieter isn't there? I've never used them myself but they look a bit like a bunch of straight twigs tied together.

I've seen mixed opinions on those. There's also some really light plastic ones that cut the noise. I need to try some out.
I've never seen those, so I am not sure. I haven't touched a drum in decades though, so you are probably right.
I think she means like these. I will look at trying some different options.
