Hive Open Mic Week 155 Woman to Woman (Cover)

Hello fellow Hivers, I hope you've ha a good week.

I wasn't sure what to chose for this week's theme of DNA. I had to think about it quite hard to find a song, though I suppose one could interpret it in so many ways.

Then I came to the conclusion that DNA links all of us. All living things are created in the image of the code inside every cell of their body. The beauty of DNA is that is also makes everyone different. Hair, eye and skin colour as well as body type are all determinded by the code in our DNA. One of the biggest genetic differences in the human race is that of gender, so this is what I based my song choice on.

This song 'Woman to Woman' is about the friendship between two women. It is based on the real experience of British songwriter Beverley Craven. The song talks about how a friendship is completely one sided as soon as her friend falls in love. Suddenly her friend isn't around to help her when she is going through bad times, even though she has returned the favour many times over. I'm sorry to say I have had similar experiences..but I soon decided those people weren't really friends.

I recorded the piano and vocal together, then I added drums, bass and some string sounds afterwards, using Logic Pro.

Bellísima jnterpretación, estimada @purplesinger, y estoy de acuerdo contigo en que "that DNA links all of us." (Ese ADN nos une a todos) y lo maravilloso es que esa unión se basa o complementa con las diferencias y así todos somos iguales pero somos únicos. Gracias por regalarnos tu arte y tus opiniones. Mil bendiciones y éxitos para ti.

Beautiful interpretation, dear @purplesinger, and I agree with you that "that DNA links all of us." and the wonderful thing is that this union is based on or complements the differences and thus we are all the same but we are unique. Thank you for giving us your art and your opinions. One thousand blessings and successes to you.

Hello friend, it is always great to have you around with such amazing talent.

I love your interpretation here.
Actually there are friends as such in life who would want to remain at the receiving end and not ready to reciprocate. For me, such should be discarded

Nice song and great performance from you gain.
Your presentations are always great

Delighted with your participation, I loved what you wrote about the beauty of DNA, we are different beings but we complement each other. That is the wonderful thing about this secret formula with which we were designed. You sing very beautifully, and your performance with the piano is great.

I spy a guitar behind you. Have you played lately?

Not sure if I know the song, but it's a good one. Good drumming.

It was lovely to hear you perform at the open mic last night. That was a fun evening.

That is my baritone uke. I pick it up and play it every so often when I need it on a track or something. It's not as hard on your fingers. I'm currently learning about electric guitar as I was lent a Gibson Les Paul...also much easier on the hands. Arthritis is troubling me these days.

I think you'd probably only know the song if you were a Beverley Craven fan...which I am.

It was a fun evening. It's been a long while since I was able to get to one.

Ah, I don't have a baritone in my uke collection, but I'm not sure I can justify one right now. Have fun with the electric guitar.
