A FRIDAY NIGHT REHEARSAL: Preparation for Christmas Celebration

My church here in school has started rehearsal for her Christmas service titled KERESIMESI it's a Yoruba word which means "Christmas". It is usually held in a stadium not to far from the church itself.

Until 6pm today, I was undecided if I should attend the rehearsal because I am so rich; I had to call my HM (Head of Musicians) to help me with money.

I, @starstrings01 and one other friend (a bass guitarist) sat outside for about an hour, after a while we decided to eat bread and akara (beans cake) that Starstrings bought for us. Not quite long, the HM brought jollof rice and meat to share with us and I really enjoyed it though it wasn't much. Around 9:45 pm my stomach was already filled.

The rehearsal started past 10; the fire thing we did was to plug the sockets, cleaned each instrument and we did sound check, then the vocalist came in and the rehearsal started. I was on the aux piano at first ( because the aux pianist has not arrived ) then I moved to pick the bass guitar.

Since it was the first rehearsal, there were lots of mistakes and corrections, the lead vocalist called the rehearsal a scratch because everyone is yet to master their part including we the musicians. I am sure the next 3-4 rehearsals will still be at night; this is because everyone is less busy at night.

I decided to take an unaware picture of @starstrings01 he was busy doing a task for Hive Learners.

I couldn't take a selfie because I don't want the boss to complain about me not being serious. _{I was writing this post while the rehearsal was going on}

The rehearsal ended 2:30am and we were all tired. Everyone slept off on chairs immediately after the rehearsal except I and some other guys that stayed up a bit till after 3 to rehearse a little. Then, the generator went off and we had to sleep in the church without light or fan. It was a battle with the mosquitoes in church.
