Sublime and Beautiful Sunday, Blog, New Digital Art and Photography
Sunday
The weekend on the whole was nice. We traveled out to UBC yesterday to attend the Beaty Biodiversity Museums Nature Club.
Once a month, they host on campus families and anyone else who drops in for a morning of kid-friendly biology learning.
This month they featured mammals. They laid out 8 samples or sounds; young patrons were to guess from the limited information which were mammals. We were then sent on a scavenger hunt of sorts to find the preserved remain of said animal.
I learned then that owls are a wee bit bulimic.
So that was yesterday, a very rainy, miserable Saturday. Today was another story. We woke to find the elusive winter sun. Yep the sublime and beauty was put in #SublimeSunday and #BeautifulSunday.
We got ourselves together quickly and headed over to the local skating rink for an hour of skating, and then the plan was to head home and catch up on the some work, maybe get this blog up earlier ... but it was just too nice.
We came out of the rink and it was downright balmy. It had to be enjoyed because who knows when the next sunny day will present itself.
Vampires don't glitter here all that often.
So we headed downtown, which to us is uptown, since we live at the bottom of the hill. We didn't have a plan; only to do some walking and see what was to be found on Robson and Granville. Turns out, not much, but a bunch of other people who had the same idea as we did.
The sidewalks were crowded.
Minime has been pining over a purple jacket, and we found one that fit the bill at H&M; we poked about in Indigo, and then shared a charcuterie at Urbanfare before heading back home.
The wind had gained a chill, and the sky some clouds; so very likely, we will return to rain before you can say Monday.
We did then do some of that work I mentioned earlier.
It's the Greco-Romans up for us next in Social Studies. With their bumper crops of grapes and olives, it got me yearning for a glass and a nibble, but I would like to shave off a few pounds; so I said no to the craving and instead had raspberry soda water.
We finished the day off with some shared reading. We are three chapters in on Hunger Games and have started We Dream Of Space by Erin Entrada Kelly. It is set in the 80's. Minime is a huge fan of Stranger Things and all things space, and so hopefully it will keep his interest.
The photos of the pink lilies were taken last week. I really do have to get better at taking shots throughout my days, but you know I like my flowers. I don't know what it is, but I continually forget to photography my food.
One of the residential buildings near Denman Mall always offers the most amazing seasonal displays. Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, you can buy a card for it and they deck out the place.
It had snowed and it was melting away on a myriad of cut flowers placed in the front yard. Hello, water drop photography:)
Certainly sublime and beautiful.
Wao another amazing and wonderful flowers photography. I really like pink flowers. When the water drops fall on the flowers in this way, their beauty is greatly enhanced and the poetry that is this is also very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you:)

These are truly beautiful and attractive.
Now that was a weekend worth having. Sounds absolutely delightful! I was able to spend some quality time with one of the young ones strolling through one of the state parks this weekend. Good weather and weekends are meant to be enjoyed.
They sure are. Yes, a hike would be splendid:)
