I See a Diamond Mind
I See
I see pearls
In my cloudy
Opalescent screaming
Vision
I see rainbows
In my foggy
Iridescent blinding
Sight
Closed shells of pressure
Arcs of pain and loss
Heartrending ache
Madness
Grief
I don’t see
In my cloudy
Opalescent screaming
Vision
I Feel
The most amazing phenomenon in art and writing, poetry and photography, is they can capture a mood and feeling without saying it outright, telegraphing as my acting coaches used to say.
The best creations capture a new angle, distill emotion and experience, concentrate those shed tears, down to sharp little jewels.
In the case of visual art, without any words at all. Music does this too, either with our without lyrics.
I once heard country music described as emo for people who like trucks. I am not exactly a huge aficionado. I listen when I am in a certain mood. There are only a handful of performers that do it for me. Patsy Cline, Dwight Yoakum, Chris Issak, and the Judds. Yes, the Judds.
Then there are few individual songs I like. I mean what self-respecting female can't belt out Any Man of Mine or I Feel Like a Woman?
But Shania for all her feisty denim girl-power is not my favourite Canadian Country performer. For that I go deep, deep emo, where the truck is rusted out and cowboys are a'cryin and holding hands with Jack.
Blue Rodeo is one of those bands that never hit it big south of the border, not because of a lack of talent, but frankly too much.
With the smooth heart-melting tones of Jim Cuddy and the less refined, but just as emotionally powerful, gravelly vibratto of Greg Keelor, there is something for the lovelorn of any gender. Musically, they are superb, but I imagine to some record exec's mind, lacking in commercial appeal. Maybe. But with staying power and consistency ... there, they have it far over most.
Definitely one of the best bands no one has ever heard of. Enjoy.

There are definitely more absolutely incredible artists that have never made it "big time" for some reason or another. It's a shame, but the buying public is also fickle.
Is it the public or a marketing drive.
Oh certainly a bit of both, I'm sure. Millie Vannilie (sp?) certainly would have not been anything with a good marketing drive.
Exactly ... you know it's true.
Hahaha! 😂
