Forward, Over the Bridge, and to the Moon

There was something special about yesterday. The sun came out unexpectedly. Breaks in the weather likes this need to be enjoyed. The planetarium had a new offering, and so we headed across the bridge under the delight of some actual heat in the sun.

Forward to the Moon is half space show and half promotional video for Nasa and the upcoming crewed Artemis missions.

There are some pretty solar system vistas, but the film is more aimed at the gear head space enthusiasts or those with dreams of one day going into orbit or walking on extra-terrestrial soil, be it the Moon or Mars.

After, we enjoyed some time in the Cosmic Courtyard and a Ground Station Canada show; A Day in Space, the hi-light of which is a discussion on how astronauts go to the toilet. Word to the wise, the next time you wish on a shooting star it may actually be astronaut poop.

I love space, learning about it, pondering the scientific mysteries of the universe, and what life may inhabit other planets or moons. But going to space is not on my short list. From the peeing into a cup, rehydrated baby food cuisine, cramped quarters, and bone loss, I am happing to go to the back of the line. I might get budgy and elbowy however if they manage to mimic gravity. It's a long trip anywhere and I like to avoid amoeba bones.

We came outside again to find the day had gotten even lovelier. Check out the view of sky and the planetarium roof. Dreamy.

We crossed the road to find a field abloom with crocus, and I got camera happy. Then we headed a few blocks away to Les Amis du Fromage.

I didn't actually get any cheese but some charcuterie and one of my fave foods: Spanish olives with anchovies. So yummy.

It was time to head back across the bridge. The clouds were thickening again but doing some amazing things to the view.

Came across an interesting philosophy video on Hermeticism, you might find enjoyable. Sarah Elkhadly, who refers to herself as an alchemist, summarizes the system in seven principles or laws the govern 'this' reality.

  • mentalism - all is mind - mind and spirit are one -thought precedes the material
  • correspondance - so below, so above - as without, as within - as the universe, as the soul
  • vibration - everything is emotion
  • polarity (actually relativity)and projection
  • rhythm - everything flows out and in and is bound to tides; cycles
  • cause and effect - everything happens according to the laws; karma; power is found in reaction
  • Gender(yin and yang)

Then were are told really they are all one and go meditate.

Driving from Michigan to Virginia, back and forth is more than enough for me. I figure I am pretty content on this little blue dot.
