Just when you think time has run out on Winter and that Spring is breathing its warm, sweet breath from the wings, simply waiting for the lights to come up, awaiting its cue, an angry old man yells ... get off my lawn ... who told you all the world is a stage.

The crocus have begun to bloom. I was quite excited to see their purple and gold glory on my neighbours lawn the other morning. They are a photogenic bunch. Alas their time is limited. As I pen this piece, winter has begun its last hurrah. Yep, it's snowy. A pretty fall. Gorgeous flakes and lots of them. And it is going to stay cold and snowy for the foreseeable future. At least according to the weather forecast.

Time will eventually bring on Spring. It's a guarantee. The verdant beauty will return and replace this icy one. Hold on. But in the meantime, enjoy the clean crisp air for its rough and thrilling, but temporary grip.

Days pass
a hundred whispered words
teardrops
and unanswered wishes

Years pass …
Well, you see where I’m going with this

There is something about time, especially in the hands of nature that can turn aging into a work of art. The crocus is short-lived and spectacular, a delicate, if daring beauty, but it will never reach the Pollack like masterpiece that is a decade's old tree trunk.

I wonder if this fellow ever thinks about time. Probably not beyond sunset and sunrise. @tattoodjay tells us to remember to look up on our #wednesdaywalk. I'm glad I did, but this guy was calling to us anyways, demanding our attention.

Not sure if it is a falcon or a hawk. Any ideas?

It was a unique experience to see it perched on Burrard Bridge.

Well, it is just a couple hours now before it is Thursday everywhere, likely already so where you are. So wishing everyone a wonderful evening or already morning when you read this.

Much love, Hivelanders.

Hello @prydefoltz !

After all, from crocuses harvest the noble and expensive spice saffron. In your pictures, the saffron thread was no longer there.😉
Thank you for your contribution. Have a nice day! @missagora

Yes, saffron comes from a member of crocus family but not these ones. Alas.
