JUDAH BY DUNSIN OYEKAN
I had always loved Dunsin Oyekan songs from when I first heard one of his songs called "Fragrance to Fire" then I started looking and downloading other songs he had released online and I never regretted it. Just like Nathaniel Bassey, his deep spiritual sensitivity and powerful prophetic worship is one to reckon with, he is an impactful and anointed music minister. I really love the way his music is always produced, his musical skills are top notch and his instrumentalists are fire 🔥 mehnnn those people are really on another level in music, they play so differently to what we are used to in Nigeria here, their uniqueness is worth to be celebrated, I love love them. I always look forward to any of Dunsin Oyekan songs every now and then not just because of worship but also the unique sounds of music I get.

With the release of the song “Judah”, Dunsin takes us into yet another powerful spiritual journey but this time into the mysteries of praise as a weapon of war and divine strategy. "Judah” is not just a song, it is a spiritual movement, a prophetic sound and a call to action for the body of Christ. For anyone familiar with the biblical significance of the tribe of Judah, it is no surprise that this song carries the weight of warfare, praise, and victory. In Scriptures, Judah means "praise" and was always the tribe that went ahead in battle (Judges 1:2). Dunsin Oyekan taps into this revelation and crafts a sound that invites us to do the same which is to send Judah (praise) first especially in times of spiritual confrontation.
The lyrics of this song are so prophetic and it is so powerful. Dunsin repeats the phrase “Judah goes first” turning it into a battle cry for believers. It’s not just a repetition for musical effect but a declaration, a reminder that praise should always precede action and that worship is the gateway to victory. The chorus is both simple and profound allowing congregations and individuals to sing along and enter into the spiritual reality that the song unlocks. I love the part which says "The battle is the Lord's and the victory is mine" this simply means that when praises goes first in any spiritual battle, God takes over and fights the battle on our behalf, thereby giving us victory 🙌.
Moreover, “Judah” is not just for the worshipper facing battles and oppositions but it is a call to a habit every believer must have. We need to be reminded that God inhabits the praises of His people, by declaring “Judah goes first” Dunsin reminds us that God leads when we lift Him high, victory often begins not with a sword but with a song of praise. This song is not just to be sung but a call for us to live by it, that is the principle of praise.
However, apart from the impact and message of the song, I will joyfully commend the instrumentalists and vocals for a job well done, even the stage management was epic. The harmony was on another level🥰 and I really want to celebrate Dunsin Oyekan for communicating God's mind to us in such a melodious way
