Something like that happened to me when @verdeazul told me that she had been invited to a piano concert at the Art Factory. The pianist is her friend and extended the invitation. The Art Factory is a cultural complex of recognized quality in the Havana environment. It hosts concerts, visual arts exhibitions, film screenings and many other activities that attract the attention of the public eager to enjoy the best of the artistic world of the city.

Although we actually decided to attend half an hour before the scheduled time, we were able to arrive in time to notify Pepe Gavilondo that we were already there to enjoy his concert.

His mother was also present and told me that Pepe is doing a master's degree in music in England. With this novel proposal that unites the acoustic sound of the piano with the effects and sounds provided by electronic instruments.

At the cafeteria we enjoyed a natural mango juice and a tasty sweet. And as we rushed out of the house so as not to be late for the concert, those snacks sustained our appetite.

There we decided to play with our creativity and I took several photos of Martha in an unusual perspective, agreed between both of us.

When the time came to think about returning home, we decided to do it with a tour that would give us the opportunity to admire other exhibitions and spaces within the Factory. Here there are always new presentations in different artistic aspects. The visual arts exhibits were varied and combined the avant-garde spirit with the more traditional visuality.

Walking through the labyrinths we discovered that another group was also giving a concert in a small hall. I did not get to know their name but I liked their interpretations with songs sung in English.

After the concert I was able to take this photo when Carlos Alfonso, director of the group Síntesis (grammy award winners) approached Pepe to exchange with him about the music he played that night. I have been told that Pepe is one of the musicians in Síntesis. And for me what better ending for this publication than the image of these two great musicians of Cuban culture. Algo así me sucedió cuando @verdeazul me comentó que la habían invitado a un concierto de piano en la Fábrica de Arte. El pianista es su amigo y le extendió esa invitación. La Fábrica de Arte es un complejo cultural de reconocida calidad en el ambiente Habanero. Allí se realizan conciertos, exposiciones de artes visuales, proyecciones de filmes y muchas otras actividades que llaman la atención del público ávido de disfrutar lo mejor del mundo artístico de la ciudad.

A pesar de que realmente decidimos asistir media hora antes de la hora programada, pudimos llegar a tiempo para notificarle a Pepe Gavilondo que ya estábamos allí para disfrutar de su concierto.

Su madre también estaba presente y me comentó que Pepe está pasando una maestría de música en Inglaterra. Con esta novedosa propuesta que une el sonido acústico del piano con los efectos y sonidos aportados por instrumentos electrónicos.

Por primera vez vi y escuché a un pianista tocar al unísono el piano y elementos electrónicos. No tengo detalles de cuales eran esos instrumentos, pero uno era una laptop, el otro parecía un sintetizador y un tercero que no puedo identificar.

En sus palabras al público antes de empezar Pepe nos aseguró que toda la música sería improvisada. Esto le dio mucha frescura a su interpretación, que combinó magistralmente las distintas sonoridades.

Escuchamos la música durante casi una hora...las variaciones de la armonía, los efectos sonoros, la mezcla de los ambientes electrónicos redibujados por las armonías del piano..... fue un emotivo tiempo de escucha y comprensión de que los límites del arte serán siempre expandidos por los artistas.

Al terminar el concierto Marthica y yo comenzamos a disfrutar del recinto. La fábrica de Arte es un entramado de espacios y laberintos que se comunican e interrelacionan entre sí. Esta pequeña sala de conciertos incluia también una cafetería y una galería de arte. Además de pinturas murales y arte objetual en sus paredes.

En la cafetería disfrutamos de un jugo de mango natural y un sabroso dulce. Y como salimos corriendo de casa para no llegar tarde al concierto , esos bocadillos nos sostuvieron el apetito.

Del lado derecho del escenario un inmenso mural decora la pared...

Del lado izquierdo la pared se usa como galería. Esta vez mostraba una interesante exposición de fotografía. Fábulas Urbanas una muestra con imágenes que giran en torno al hombre dentro del ambiente citadino....

La primera parte de la exposición presenta fotografías en Blanco y negro.

Ya hacia el final encontramos estas fotos a colores donde predomina el azul y con simples pero exactas miradas compositivas se logran perspectivas interesantes de ambientes cotidianos.

Allí decidimos jugar con nuestra creatividad y tomé varias fotos de Martha en una perspectiva inusual, acordada entre ambos.

Llegado el momento de pensar en el regreso a casa decidimos hacerlo con un recorrido que nos diera la posibilidad de admirar otras exposiciones y espacios dentro de la Fábrica. Aquí siempre hay nuevas presentaciones en diferentes vertientes artísticas. Las muestras de artes visuales eran variadas y combinaban el espíritu vanguardista con la visualidad más tradicional.

Andando por los laberintos descubrimos que otra agrupación daba también un concierto en una pequeña sala. No llegue a conocer su nombre pero me gustaron sus interpretaciones con temas cantados en inglés.

Después del concierto pude tomar esta foto cuando Carlos Alfonso, director del grupo Síntesis (ganadores del premio grammy) se le acercó a Pepe para intercambiar con el sobre la música que tocó esa noche. Me han dicho que Pepe es uno de los músicos integrantes de Síntesis. Y para mi que mejor final para está publicación que la imagen de estos dos grandes músicos de la cultura cubana. La Fábrica del Arte es uno de los centros culturales que más prestigia las noches de la Habana. Si andan cerca, no pierdan la oportunidad de visitarlo y disfrutar de una increíble experiencia.
