My Thoughts and Highlights From Vibes Week #36
This week, I didn’t get around to exploring as many entries as I usually do. But I have watched and listened to quite a lot, so many that I would need to scroll back through the community to remember them all.
As always, Vibes continues to showcase incredible talents; vocalists, instrumentalists, and performers who give their all with every entry.
I had a really lovely time soaking in the music. Some performances felt like more than just a presentation, especially the gospel songs, they were very uplifting and encouraging.
Before going into my Week 36 review, I want to quickly share a few thoughts on last week’s results.
When the winners list for Week 35 were announced, it was interesting to see which performances made the list. Some were familiar names and that made me smile. But as always, my reviews aren't based on predicting winners, I just talk about the entries that left an impression on me, whether it’s because of the vocals, song choice, or simply the feeling they gave me.
Sometimes, the performance may not be perfect, but there's something exceptional or real that pulls me in, and that’s what I love to highlight.
That said, it must be really tough for the judges each week. There are always so many good entries, ones that tick all the boxes: creativity, vocals, delivery... the list goes on. Having to narrow it down to just six can’t be easy, and I respect the effort and balance it takes to make those decisions. But I also enjoy celebrating entries that might go unnoticed. That’s the beauty of having different perspectives in a creative space like this.
Now that we’re deep into Week 36, here are a few entries I’ve watched so far that stood out to me for different reasons...
The first on my list is Brenique's entry
Brenique did a beautiful combination of two powerful gospel songs by two popular music teams. I wouldn't just call her entry a perfect performance, I would call it a ministration.
She sang so solemnly and with grace; her vocals were soulful, her spirit was warm, and her delivery was truly impressive.
Since it was a song I already knew, I found myself singing along with her.
It was an edifying entry, @brenique. Thank you for gracing us with your presence on Hive.
The next artist on my list is Daimusic.
This beautiful lady sings with passion.
I don’t understand Spanish, but trust me when I say I enjoyed her performance.
Great vocals, heartfelt expression, it made the video worth both my time and my data subscription.
Her entry made me curious enough to visit her blog, and there, I discovered many other beautiful covers she’s shared.
Well done, @daimusic95 . You’re amazing.
My last highlight for this review is Joel's entry:
His song choice resonated deeply with me, and I believe many others will relate as well.
Everyone has dreams, but not everyone is ready to put in the work required to bring those dreams to life.
Why am I always so drawn to lyrics? Because songs have deeper meaning, a message, if you take time to look and listen beyond the sounds.
This was my first time hearing this song, and what caught my attention first was how calm and steady Joel’s vocals were. Then, when I read through the lyrics, I was really glad I came across his performance.
Well done, @joel17 . Keep doing what you know how to do best.
The competition is still ongoing, and I know there are more beautiful entries yet to come. I’m looking forward to discovering more artists and more heartfelt performances before the week wraps up.
So to every artist who has shared so far, thank you for the courage, the effort, and the light you bring. I may not get to mention everyone, but please know that your voice matters, and your creativity is seen.
Stay inspired. Keep creating. And may this week bring you growth, joy, and love.
Thank you for reading.
