Tuning In for Focus

Now that I'm preparing for a new job, I'm also getting ready for even the little things—like my Spotify playlist. Although it's just a minor aspect of work, I still think it's important to be prepared. I've been testing different types of music to see which ones help me concentrate better.

I’ve tried playing various kinds of music while working—from peaceful tunes to loud and fast-paced tracks. While I enjoy both, I’ve noticed that each has its downsides when listened to throughout an entire workday.

Peaceful music tends to make me feel sleepy and sluggish while handling tasks. On the bright side, it helps me stay calm and reduces stress by the end of the day. On the other hand, loud and energetic music makes me more active and productive at first, but it leaves me feeling drained and stressed after long hours.

Eventually, I discovered a middle ground: instrumental piano music designed to enhance focus. These days, that’s what I usually listen to while working in the office. It works well for me, providing a balance between staying productive and keeping stress levels low.

Finding the right music has made a surprising difference in how I manage my energy and focus throughout the day. It’s a small change, but one that helps me show up better—both mentally and emotionally—for the work ahead.
