Military music festival, Olomouc, CZ
On Friday and Saturday an international festival of military music took place in Olomouc.
Some may consider military music as an archaism. The role of the army is to send rockets, lightning, hurricane hail and glowing coals down on the enemy - in biblical language. Not the nice notes of musical instruments. On the other hand, music is part of the military tradition.
And anyone who thinks that only marches belong to military music is wrong. Orchestral pieces of various genres, both classical and modern, have been performed by military musicians.
The festival was attended by:
- Central Music of the Army of the Czech Republic
- Garrison Music of Budapest, Hungary
- Music of the Arme blindée cavalerie or Armored Cavalry, Metz, France
- Air Force Music Corps, Münster, Germany.
The program was enriched by a motorcycle show of the Czech Military Police and majorettes of the Elementary Art School from Mohelnice.
