I am very glad you wrote. I created this community especially for people like you (and me) who have loved vinyl for years, not because it has been getting good press for the last 10 years.
My youth was in the 1990s in Poland. It wasn't the era of CDs like everywhere else, but of cassettes, because CDs were out of reach for young Polish, post-Soviet kids.
But I learned to listen to music on vinyl from my older sisters.
Vinyl has always had a magical power for me. I got my first vinyl records in the late 1990s, when my father went to Germany to work. He brought back various audio equipment from there, and once he brought a beautiful Telefunken turntable. I don't remember the model today, but it had beautiful tactile buttons illuminated in green. The first records I listened to on it were my sisters' records. I was in love with Pink Floyd's ‘Delicate Sound Of Thunder’; I had the USSR edition, but it sounded really beautiful.
Today, in the age of AI music, I think it's more appropriate to release music on vinyl and make sure it doesn't appear online, so that it doesn't become material for training AI robots :d
Thank you for your contribution to the community!
