Hola a todos los músicos que dan vida a la comunidad de #Music. Hoy vengo a hablarle un poco de una de mis cantantes favoritas desde mis tiempos que se remontan a mi adolescencia. Esta cantante es muy especial para mí, ya que marcó mi gusto musical y abrió mis gustos auditivos a un nuevo estilo nunca antes escuchado. Les hablo de Utada Hikaru.
Hello to all the musicians who give life to the #Music community. Today I come to talk to you a little bit about one of my favorite singers since my times dating back to my teenage years. This singer is very special to me, as she marked my musical taste and opened my listening tastes to a new style never heard before. I am talking about Utada Hikaru.

Utada Hikaru es una cantante nacida en Manhattan, Estados Unidos pero de padres japoneses, por lo que cuenta con dos nacionalidades. Inició su camino por la música a muy temprana edad, se podría decir que a partir de los 13 años empezó como compositora pero no fue sino hasta los 16 que logró crear su primer disco. Actualmente tiene 41 años y fue la primera cantante japonesa que conocí musicalmente, nunca la he visto en persona y estoy casi segura que no sabe de mi existencia pero igual soy su más grande admiradora y fan aqui en Venezuela.
Utada Hikaru is a singer born in Manhattan, United States but with Japanese parents, so she has two nationalities. She began her musical career at a very early age, it could be said that at the age of 13, she started as a composer but it was not until she was 16 that she managed to create her first album. She is currently 41 years old and was the first Japanese singer I met musically, I have never seen her in person and I am almost sure she does not know of my existence but I am still her biggest fan and admirer here in Venezuela.

Por cariño sus amistades más cercanas y muchos de sus fans suelen llamarla Hikki. Recuerdo que la primera canción que escuché en japonés fue de la némesis de Utada, ¿saben de quien hablo? Pues de Ayumi Hamasaki y es que de ella escuché la siguiente canción perteneciente a mi serie de animé favorita de todos los tiempos, Inuyasha.
Her closest friends and many of her fans often call her Hikki out of affection. I remember the first song I heard in Japanese was by Utada's nemesis, do you know who I'm talking about? Well is Ayumi Hamasaki I heard the following song from my all-time favorite anime series, Inuyasha.

Pero este post está dedicado a Utada, quien se volvió mi cantante favorita al enterarme que hablaba dos idiomas a la perfección. El inglés y el japonés, y no nada más los habla sino que los canta. Su estilo de voz musical se conoce como Contralto, lo que quiere decir que su voz se caracteriza por ser muy grave, con un sonido menor de los 250 Hz. Básicamente es el tono de voz que suelen tener las mujeres que cantan ópera.
Para explicarme mejor les voy a dejar un ejemplo de la primera canción que escuché de ella y con la cual me cautivó. Luego quise saber más de ella y me gustó tanto su estilo, que para mi fue una joya de artista y desde entonces la sigo en sus redes sociales y también la sigo escuchando.
But this post is dedicated to Utada, who became my favorite singer when I found out that she spoke two languages perfectly. English and Japanese, and she not only speaks them but also sings them. Her musical voice style is known as Contralto, which means that it is characterized by being very low, with a sound of less than 250 Hz. It is the tone of voice that women opera singers usually have.
To explain myself better I will leave you an example of the first song I heard from her and with which she captivated me. Then I wanted to know more about her and I liked her style so much, that for me she was a jewel of an artist since then I followed her on her social networks and I also keep listening to her.

Y es que Utada Hikaru lo tiene todo. Mi disco favorito de ella es Ultra Blue. Y por supuesto sus demás discos también me gustan, pero éste en particular fue el primero que escuché completo de ella y quedé encantada con su música y sus letras. Estuve tan obsesionada con ella que durante muchos años quise aprender a hablar japonés, sin embargo hasta el sol de hoy no lo he logrado pero me sé algunas canciones de ella en japonés.
Otra canción que destacó bastante de ella y que también pertenece al universo de Evangelion se llama Beautiful World, la cual les dejo a continuación para que la disfruten.
And Utada Hikaru has it all. My favorite album of hers is Ultra Blue. And of course, I like her other albums as well, but this one in particular was the first one I listened to in its entirety and I was enchanted by her music and lyrics. I was so obsessed with her that for many years I wanted to learn to speak Japanese, however to this day I have not succeeded but I know some of her songs in Japanese.
Another song that stood out quite a bit from her and that also belongs to the Evangelion universe is called Beautiful World, which I leave below for you to enjoy.

¿Alguna vez has escuchado a un rapero cantar en japonés? Yo no lo había hecho. Y tuve que esperar desde el 2008 al 2016 para que Utada Hikaru lanzara su 6to album, ya que por una larga temporada se mantuvo fuera del mundo musical por razones personales. Su madre fallece en el 2013, producto de un suicidio y ésto en parte la inspiró a retomar su carrera, consiguiendo consuelo por parte de sus fans y amigos adyegados.
Have you ever heard a rapper sing in Japanese? I hadn't. And I had to wait from 2008 to 2016 for Utada Hikaru to release her 6th album, as for a long time she stayed away from the music world for personal reasons. Her mother passed away in 2013 as a result of suicide and this partly inspired her to resume her career, getting comfort from her fans and close friends.
Y es que esta cantante japonesa es todo un ícono musical. Gracias a su música pude conocer mucho más de Japón y de muchos otros cantantes Japoneses muy buenos. Y aunque tengo muchas canciones favoritas de ella, les dejaré la interpretación de este cantante atípico japonés que canta muy bien y le rinde homenaje a la increíble Utada Hikraru.
This Japanese singer is a musical icon. Thanks to her music I got to know much more about Japan and many other very good Japanese singers. Interesante que inicio bastante pequeña... Y triste lo de la madre de la chica, hay personas con un talento tan impresionante y con capacidades musicales difíciles de igualar por otros... Buen antes cuando a la música se le podía llamar música lo de ahora es un desastre total...
Si ella inició bastante joven y eso gracias a la influencia de sus padres porque también eran músicos reconocidos de Japón. Lo que más me gusta de ella es que mantiene una humildad por su talento increible. La admiro mucho. Gracias por pasar! saludos!
