The best concert!
Today I would like to tell you about the best live concert I've ever attended!
It was the concert of a very famous singer in Italy and I must admit also very good, her name is Fiorella Mannoia and the peculiarity of that event is that I participated not as a spectator but because I worked there.
Let's start from the beginning, it was the first Fiorella concert I worked on and it was held at the Francesco Cilea Municipal Theater in Reggio Calabria.
In that period we worked quite a lot and, with concerts, I occupied several days of the year; it was quite a tiring job but I loved it because it allowed me to stay behind the scenes, see and get to know the artists, attend concerts for free and in addition it made me earn some money which was never a bad thing eh eh!
During that occasion we were really very good, you must know that the stage of our theater is not very large and, in the case of this concert, it was not good for the scenography (it was too short), but we managed to assemble and adapt everything perfectly and this was one of the reasons that then allowed us to work on Fiorella's second concert in our region as well and, the really gratifying thing, was that on the second occasion it was the impresario and the artist to ask us personally as porters (which I know sounds bad as a role, but it was what we actually had... men of hard work) and I assure you that it doesn't happen every day, in fact, the guys who worked in Catanzaro didn't take it very good lol!
Then, in that concert I had an even greater pleasure, Fiorella had me set up her dressing room and, remembering me, at the second concert I was sent to find me to do the same thing since she had liked my way of working; you must know that while I was arranging the dressing room the first time, for reasons of time, she was there to try on things; I'm very shy in my way and I tend not to disturb, even when I meet a famous person or an artist I don't go to ask for an autograph or a selfie because I know it would bother me and I imagine it could be the same for him ( let's be clear, it wouldn't bother me to sign autographs or take pictures, but I think that when you go for a walk the two hundredth person who stops you and asks you for a bit You get annoyed and I would never want to be that two hundredth person); perhaps it was precisely because of my working in silence that she took the initiative and asked for my name... how exciting! Then she asked me a few questions about the work and she offered me some fruit (for the artists they always left big baskets full of all the fruit in the dressing rooms).
The thing that made that concert even more special was that I was allowed to watch the performance practically from above the stage, I was right next to the singer a few meters from her, sitting at the console of the sound engineer (together with the sound of course), great!
From that position it's like hearing the concert totally in acoustic version, it was truly a unique experience!
To think that my friends and colleagues preferred to sleep during the two hours of the concert, what did they miss!
Of course, it would have been different for them, because they would have attended the concert in the audience, but they always missed a fantastic event.
It's always been like this, during concerts they slept to catch up; the work began early in the morning (at six we were already setting up) and finished late at night (usually by four) and many times, especially in the summer, once we had dismantled a stage we got into the cars and went to another town to set up the stage for another concert; But I've always loved music and couldn't resist attending concerts, I never missed one!
But that Fiorella concert will remain for me the most beautiful ever!

oggi vorrei parlarti del miglior concerto dal vivo al quale ho partecipato!
E' stato il concerto di una cantante molto famosa in Italia e devo ammettere anche molto brava, lei si chiama Fiorella Mannoia e, la particolarità di quell'evento è che ho partecipato non da spettatore ma perché ci lavoravo.
Partiamo dal principio, è stato il primo concerto di Fiorella al quale ho lavorato e si è tenuto al Teatro comunale Francesco Cilea di Reggio Calabria.
In quel periodo si lavorava abbastanza e, con i concerti, occupavo parecchi giorni dell'anno; era un lavoro abbastanza faticoso ma lo adoravo perché mi permetteva di stare dietro le quinte, vedere e conoscere gli artisti, assistere gratis ai concerti e in più mi faceva guadagnare qualche soldino che non è stato mai un male eh eh!
Durante quell'occasione siamo stati davvero molto bravi, devi sapere che il palco del nostro teatro non è grandissimo e, nel caso di questo concerto, non andava bene per la scenografia (era troppo corto), noi però siamo riusciti a montare ed adattare tutto alla perfezione e, questo, è stato uno dei motivi che poi ci ha permesso di lavorare anche al secondo concerto di Fiorella nella nostra regione e, la cosa davvero gratificante, è stata che nella seconda occasione sono stati proprio l'impresario e l'artista a chiedere noi personalmente come facchini (che lo so suona male come ruolo, ma era quello che in realtà avevamo... uomini di fatica) e Ti assicuro che non capita tutti i giorni infatti, i ragazzi che lavoravano a Catanzaro, non la presero molto bene lol!
Io poi, in quel concerto ebbi un piacere ancora più grande, Fiorella mi fece allestire il suo camerino e, ricordandosi di me, al secondo concerto mi mando a cercare per fare la stessa cosa poiché le era piaciuto il mio modo di lavorare; devi sapere che mentre sistemavo il camerino la prima volta, per motivi di tempo, lei era lì a provare delle cose; io per mio modo di fare sono molto timido e tendo a non disturbare, anche quando incontro un personaggio famoso o un artista non vado a chiedere l'autografo o il selfie perché so che a me darebbe fastidio e immagino possa essere così anche per lui (intendiamoci, non mi darebbe certo fastidio firmare autografi o fare foto, credo però che quando vai a fare quattro passi alla duecentesima persona che Ti ferma e te lo chiede un po' Ti infastidisci ed io non vorrei mai essere quella duecentesima persona); forse proprio per quel mio lavorare in silenzio è stata lei a prender l'iniziativa e a chiedere il mio nome... che emozione! Poi mi ha rivolto qualche domanda sul lavoro e mi ha offerto della frutta (per gli artisti lasciavano sempre dei grossi cesti pieni di tutti i frutti nei camerini).
La cosa che ha reso ancor più speciale quel concerto è stata che mi è stato permesso di assistere alla performance praticamente da sopra il palco, ero proprio di lato alla cantante a pochi metri da lei, seduto alla consolle del tecnico del suono (insieme al tecnico del suono ovviamente), fantastico!
Da quella posizione è come sentire il concerto totalmente in versione acustica, è stata davvero un'esperienza unica!
Pensare che i miei amici e colleghi hanno preferito dormire durante le due ore del concerto, cosa si sono persi!
Certo, per loro sarebbe stato diverso, perché avrebbero assistito al concerto in platea, ma sempre un evento fantastico si sono persi.
E' sempre stato così, durante i concerti loro dormivano per recuperare sonno; il lavoro cominciava la mattina presto (alle sei già stavamo montando) e finiva a tarda notte (di solito per le quattro) e, tante volte, soprattutto in estate, finito di smontare un palco salivamo sulle macchine e andavamo in un altro paese a montare il palco per un altro concerto; io però ho sempre amato la musica e non potevo resistere ad assistere ai concerti, non me ne sono perso uno!
Ma quel concerto di Fiorella resterà per me il più bello di sempre!
