AFRI-TUNES WEEK 173 - Eze Chukwu (COVER)
AFRI-TUNES WEEK 173 - Eze Chukwu (COVER)
Welcome to my entry for Afritunes week 173, I had the privilege of meeting few friends during the week and we had the opportunity to make covers of some amazing songs we played back in the days when we were learning brass instruments.
My love for this song "Eze Chukwu" exude from the distinct melody lines attached to the song. Unlike most other songs, "Eze Chukwu" has a dynamic parting pattern that gives the song the unmatchable pleasant feeling it transmits to it's listeners.
In our case here, it was just the two of us which means we can only but play two parts of the song at a go together. I had wish we was at least four in number, we would have been able to dissect the song and share the partings amongst ourselves for better harmony. Notwithstanding, we did our best, my friend James played the melody line on the trumpet while I went for the bass line with the euphonium.
It's a pleasure making so many covers that hopefully I'll be sharing with us timely here.
By the way, this song as allot of translation and allot of versions from different regions and different dialects, feel free to sing along with us in whatever language you know the song...
Let me know what you think about this piece in the comment section below...
