The Era of Heartfelt Music Gone?

Music is the food of the soul, Music has the power to touch and real out to our very souls,also lift oindiur spirits and heal.

Music has always been a part of my life that have helped me a lot. It's no longer an Hobby for me it's more like a lifestyle.
I have music to cater for every particular mood I am in,
For Example if I need Energy to do some stuffs that seems to be very exhausting, I have some playlist of Songs on my phone that I usually play on the Go forathat mood,
Some times I just need to think Deep, or meditate, I have a special playlist for that also.
Every Musician have their different genre and style that fits to my very taste.

One of my favourite genre now is Afrobeats.
This is a type of Genre that originated from West Africa, Mainly from Nigeria in the 1960 to 1970s, it is usually a fusion of Fuji, highlife, traditional Yoruba music, with some other elements of soul, rock and Latin more.
Afrobeats is the latest big thing in town, making a lot of waves both from the original Continent which is Africa to all around the world, I am so proud of all the Afrobeats artist and producers that have worked their way all up, to be the best around the world.
Here are some of my favourite Afrobeat Artist like: Davido, WizKid, Mr Easy, limoblaze, SSteady, Simi, Omawunmi, Niniola, Fave, Tems and lot of them are doing great.

They all are doing great music but then overtime some of this artist music styles, lyrics and song messages loosed their uniqueness and the music lyrics doesn't make much sense again.
My Observation of the present day song lyrics is that, it's rather very shallow always containing a predictable elements like Drugs, women, Fraudulent or glorifying scam.

Here are some of the things that wrong with the Modern day music:

1. Lack of Effort to create a unique sound:
   I call this the Homogenization of sound: Many modern songs sound similar to another one, this is even happening in Afrobeats too,songs are made with the same formulas and production techniques being used repeatedly.
   I get very uninterested whenever I noticed there is no uniqueness in the song.

1. Over-reliance on technology:
   Traditional musical instruments are now neglected,
   The excessive use of auto-tune, synthesizers, and drum machines can make music sound artificial and lacking in human emotion. This happens a lot in modern music.

1. Prioritizing profit over artistry which leads to loss of creativity: nowadays The music industry's focuses on making money more, this can lead to a lack of creativity and originality.
   Some labels or recording studios gives their artists some music deals, which they will pressure the Musicians to make many music at the same time.

2. Lack of meaningful lyrics:
   This is so very reoccurring in almost all the music genres now.
   Many modern songs have lyrics that are shallow, simplistic, or even misogynistic. No particular efforts to even portray any positive message.
   Personally I call them Danceable Trash lol.
   Since most of Afrobeats song can be danceable, some of those lazy artist usually sing some lame songs on some very good beats.

3. Glorification of negative behaviors:
   I have talked about this earlier
   Some songs promote unhealthy behaviors like substance abuse, violence, or promiscuity. Songs like Vision 2020, Cash App, Dealer Man, Science students and many more are songs that glorify criminal behaviours.

1. Objectification of women:
   This is really an issue in the Modern era music, since more than 70% are mostly written about women.
   The music industry has been criticized for its treatment of women, with many songs reducing them to objects or stereotypes.

What are the solution to these problems?

First and Foremost there is need to start encouraging and supporting Creativity, Hardwork and Good Lyrics in Music. If there are ways to even regulate what type of music to produce out.
We need to create a platform for new and Emerging Artists with talents and good writing skills.
We need to encourage musicians who are original and creative. Also our Record Labels should be regulated and enforced to Reward and pay Artists under them well and give good contracts.
