AFRITUNES WEEK 179 COVER OF (MU GODE YESU/ THANK YOU JESUS) BY @OLUTHOMAS

Hey friends of Hive, welcome to my page. I go by the name @oluthomas, and I am delighted to post for Week 179 of the Afritunes Weekly Contest. This week, I will be singing a cover of a song titled "Mu Gode Yesu" (Thank You Jesus). I tried to find the writer of this song, but couldn’t. This song has been part of me since I was a baby. While growing up, I attended Sunday school, and in my denomination, this song was mostly for children. The moment we wanted to give our offering, this was the song we sang loud and clear, and you must sing it without anyone forcing you. I became so connected to it that I found myself singing it even when I was alone.

This song is a song of thanksgiving to God for all He has done. I came to realize that while we were giving our offerings, we were doing it in thanksgiving for what God had done for us so far. Giving our little offering was a way of appreciating God for His grace and His mercy. Some of us, at first, did it blindly without really understanding the revelation behind it, but as we grew, we began to give thanks with understanding.

The song is in both Hausa and English. Though the first time I heard it, it sounded boring, I later came to see that the message behind it is what truly matters. I remember vividly one of our Sunday school teachers who loved this song so much that she has passed away now. Thanks to that teacher for making some of us fall in love with this amazing song.
