HOW HIVE TAUGHT ME THE VALUE OF LITTLE EFFORTS

Hello, my beautiful Hivian’s friends and amazing Afritunes members. It’s your beloved brother @oluthomas again. I’m always happy to have you here on my blog today, and trust me, what I’m about to share with the Afritunes community and Hive family is something unique. We’re talking about the word consistency, most especially in the journey of music as an artist or individual that wants to achieve greatness in music.

Let me start by saying this: to be frank, music is not child's play. There is a tendency that you will have a good voice like an angel, and you can still know how to play all the keys on the piano, but if you don’t show up daily to improve what you know so far, you will still be on the same level. I knew individuals that were very talented, but I still saw them struggling and not standing out. But I notice what makes some stand out is the ability to keep grinding even when it doesn't look like it.

You might have been consistent with what you do, but sometimes you won’t see results immediately, and you might even publish your content, and the outcome will not be encouraging. But the ability to keep going is what keeps one going.

Consistency is just like doing the small things even when nobody is clapping for you. It’s practicing that same harmony again and again till it becomes part of you. I do think that one day I will just wake up and find out that I blow, but music is not like that; one must go through thorough practice to bring out good music. Sometimes life does not work the way we think, so we need to follow the principles of life that speak on growth. To be able to grow, you need to keep learning and practicing, and because of your habit of consistency in what you do, it will surely pay off one day, and opportunity will meet you prepared.

In some cases people will keep telling me to just believe in myself, and I do believe, but without doing the necessary things to make what you believe be a reality, it is just empty noise, so this is where consistency comes in. You need to keep rehearsing or practicing even when people cheer you on or not; in some cases you rehearse even when your throat is dry, and I kept on posting even when I didn’t get a positive response from my audience.

Also, consistency in the area of visibility or sharing our content to our audience on platforms like Hive, we don’t need to hide what we know how to do. Sha, sometimes we might not get it right, but with thorough training and dropping your content always, not appearing and disappearing like NEPA light, by doing that, people will forget you easily, and they will not take you seriously. But if we are steady, people will also take us seriously. @hive has taught me something powerful: even the smallest effort really matters. Your own goal is to keep posting, keep on sharing, and keep supporting others too. By doing so you’ll grow, and as we grow, our confidence grows. If you can go back 3 years and check your content, you might definitely laugh at yourself, but while you keep growing, everything also grows with you; that is the power of consistency.

Someone that is determined to achieve greatness does not wait for perfect timing. You don’t till you get it right, but rather, we begin grinding with what we have. I remember the phone I was using before for my content; the camera was blurry. You would hardly recognize me, but I did not give up, and I continued publishing my content, and in the end, I was able to get a new device and continue from where I stopped, so we should not be ashamed of what we have now. We might not have good gadgets, but we should manage the ones we have.

I have made up my mind that I will keep posting even if it’s just two people that listen to me or I don’t have views at all. I will not stop, and I am advising you to do the same, because no one knows the time or the hour that you will blow.
Thank you for going through my post, and please feel free to drop your thoughts in the comment section. Let’s grow together as one family.
Much love from me to you always,
@oluthomas
I therefore invite @akwash360 @daverick @joseph2014 to also participate in the prompt.
