Mystery DJ
Something spooky happened one time I was listening to music on Spotify. Right in the middle of the song I was listening to, it jumped to another song that wasn't in my playlist and even the kind that I never listen to.
I thought it was a glitch, so I went back to my playlist and continued. It happened again, and again, and again. Had it been random songs, I wouldn't have been freaked out, but it was the same exact song it kept going back to.
I had my laptop and phone right before me on my desk. The only explanation I could come up with was that either my phone or laptop was acting up and messing with Spotify playback. It turned out to be neither.
Moments later, I remembered that I was also signed on my iPad, but it was with my nephew. Knowing the young chap, I had a pretty good guess of what was really happening, but it'd be strange if true because it was 5 AM.
It turned out it was my nephew behind the curtains all along. And apparently, we are struggling with the same problem. He was up so early and wanted to listen to his favourite artist. He was trying to pick a song, but he couldn't hear anything, no matter how much he turned up the volume. Rather, it was playing on my end. The spooky situation then made sense to me.
One of the things I like about Spotify is its cross-device sync. As long as I am signed in with the same account on all of my devices, I can have seamless playback across them all. I'd start a song on my phone and continue on my desktop or my iPad, and control the playback from any one of them. I use this feature often, and I find it very useful.
It's like having a remote control with the cross-device sync. For example, I could be playing songs from my laptop with my speakers connected, and then I would be able to change songs, adjust the volume, and control the playback—shuffle, play/pause, and add to queue.
For cross-device sync to work, though, all the devices have to be connected to be online. And from what I recently learned, you can have the devices on different networks or the same wifi.

Their attempts to intimidate and silence their critics are equally concerning. The use of downvotes as a means of censorship is a clear indication of their desperation to maintain their grip on the narrative. But it's not working

The Hive community has been plagued by a rise in spam accounts sharing stolen content. Many of these accounts appear to be linked to a single super farm that we've exposed @memesandstuff superfarm and we believe a prominent whale may be behind it
A Call to Action Against Downvote Abuse on Hive
Bad downvotes on Hive are a growing concern that must be addressed. These downvotes not only discourage users from sharing their real thoughts and ideas but also damage the community as a whole, we see many walk away

The Buildawhale farm scam has been a topic of concern for us, and we've exposed it. However, despite our attempts to bring attention to this issue, it seems that no concrete actions have been taken to address it. This lack of response is puzzling
Let's discuss a more serious issue that affects all on Hive. The prevalence of bad downvotes on Hive is a major concern, and we urge you to speak up if you've been affected by it. Don't be afraid to share your experiences speak up
I think that's a really cool feature.
That would've been way too creepy for me to handle lol.
Oh, Meta
But why lol
I get freaked out easily lol
LOL. If that had been happening to me I would have thought it was a ghost or glitch in the matrix. There may even have been some Holy Water and prayers put into action. Glad in your case it easily explainable. Happy listening!
Haha! That's another level, but that Holy Water better not land on the keyboard.
I learned that the hard way. Spilled some water a couple of weeks back on my desk. I didn't realize my keyboard was impacted until the next day when it wouldn't work. Thank goodness for backup keyhboards.
Woah. External keyboard, right? Would have been a different situation if it was a laptop.
Yes, thank goodness it was only an external keyboard. A direct laptop keyboard spill would have been a truly painful tech experience.
Not me being so curious about what kind of song your nephew was listening to… with how you described it as something you’d never even listen to💀
Now when you put it like that... Lmao
It was a song by Portable, a Nigerian singer, and I find his style noisy and loud. Not sure what the kid sees in him.
Mystery Dj indeed 😅
If you had a very superstitious person close by at that moment, long hours of prayer would have been the recommended solution
That one is also good. But me, I wanted to get to bottom of it sharp!
