It Is the Third of June

Today of course is June 3rd. If you are a lover of old country songs, especially ones that tell a story, like I am, then you would realize that is the beginning of the classic song called Ode to Billy Joe. I thought to myself if I was ever going to get back to posting on here, such a day would be a perfect occasion LOL. So Bobby Gentry recorded that way back in 1967, and it got a fair amount of airplay when I was growing up. I think it was such a classic because it had a certain amount of ambiguity. Of course people were always debating why did Billy Joe jump, as well as what she was throwing off of the Tallahatchie Bridge…

I personally think this is a great song but it should be noted that it contains allusions to suicide if you are so triggered be warned.

All this thinking about great balance reminds me of the classic song The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia. It's another one where the lyrics tell the story and there is a plot twist at the end. The original was famously covered by Reba McEntire and the video kind of spells out what happens in the lyrics of the song visually.

I haven't been on here for a little bit. I kind of wish I had a good reason, but I don't. I suppose it is a mixture of me being lazy, busy, and it being such a hassle to cash out for us folks living in the United States. I guess there ain't no easy answer to that problem. I don't suppose that Coinbase is going to support hive in the foreseeable future. Of course, maybe someday.
