Music over movies: music feeds the soul.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. This prompt is quite a difficult one to respond to; it was a tough choice, but if at any point I am asked to choose between music and movies, I am choosing music over movies. At the same time, I don't pray we get to that point. Both music and movies make life fun, especially with the worries of adulthood pressing one down. The only way to clear your head or raise your spirit is by listening to music or watching a movie. The worries go away faster when you do any of the two.

I enjoy different genres of music depending on my mood, but while growing up, I only enjoyed reggae music. Now, any music that fits my mood and situation is good for me. Music is almost everything that life needs; even from the days of old, they played music to show you that.

I tried to picture a world without music; you won't like that picture either. It's boring; nothing gives you that vibe like music. I am so addicted to music and cannot get any chores done without music in my ears, so how do I cope in a world where there's movies but no music? It's possible to cope without movies, but nearly impossible to cope without music. When traveling, the first thing I carry is my earpods or ear plugs because, with music, you find the journey more interesting.

Why choose music over movies?

We all enjoy watching movies. We have different genres of movies we watch and enjoy. As for me, I prefer action movies; I enjoy them a lot, but if I am put in a position to choose between movies and music, I am letting all the fun of enjoying that go and sticking to music. Sometimes I feel really sad that not even a loved one can make me smile, but with music, I will be active in no time. Not even watching or seeing movies can do that for me, so why on earth would I want to choose movies over music? If situations like that come up, how do I handle them when I live in a world where music is not allowed?

Music helps me feel relaxed; even when I feel like sleeping, there are certain songs I listen to, and in a few minutes I am fast asleep. Movies cannot do that for me; there is a song for every situation, but I doubt if there's a movie for every situation too. We all have songs we listen to when we are broken, songs that raise our spirits when we are down, but I strongly doubt if movies can do that for us.

We only watch movies to while away time, and the moment you turn it off, whatever was bothering you comes creeping back. On the other hand, music kicks it away for good. If you were down after listening to a song or two that fit the situation, you feel really energetic for a long time before feeling low again. Music can mend a broken soul or a broken heart, but movies don't have the power to do so.

Thanks for reading my post.

If the first human to sing could visit the world again, he or she will be proud to see how people cherish music.

Music is life and more to us, I share the same feeling for movie as well but music will always come first.

Thanks for participating in the Hive Naija weekly prompt.
