Three Tunes Tuesday #2 / week #79 | Australian Edition #1

It's not a secret - many years ago I lived down under for three years. I lived and worked and breathed Australia in Melbourne VIC and I loved it. Very much. I would have stayed in a heartbeat if immigration laws had been a little more accommodating to me. Alas, it wasn't to be. Now I'm a German in the US - but that's another story.

Today, I am bringing you the first (of many?!)

Australian editions of #ThreeTunesTuesday

I don't think it can get much more Australian than this one. Okay, I know Aussies will disagree (thinking Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel) but - this here - also the video takes me right back to my Oz times showing some iconic landscapes and more. It was released in 1987 = well before my Oz times

Let's go back in time even further and, yes, the video will show it. 1980 the Australian iconic

Gheez, such a weird and fun video and I still know all the lyrics and sing along with my headphones on - quite to the dismay of my hubby - LOL.

Now, what about the third Aussie edition song? Hmm, okay, I am going a little bit AWOL here and will change it to the

ANZAC edition of my #TTT with Crowded House

Yeah, I know, everyone almost everyone thinks they're Australian but they're from New Zealand. Same difference for a lot, but - not really, right?! Still, it is ANZAC. So, here is one of their greatest hits if not their best-known one. There are many more where this one came from and a lot of them I like more than this one - guess there will have to be another TTT. I'll share the original video of this song but there are so many great live versions of it on Youtube it's unbelievable.

Crowded House was one of those groups I thought were making music because they loved it and wanted to make music. And while searching for this video I stumbled across an Aussie tv show and now know that Neil Finn's two sons are now playing in the band with him - awesome!
