MY FAVOURITE ARTISTE
Music is something that has grown a lot over the centuries. its rapid growth has created a massive impact in the world today. The music industry is now one of the largest industries globally as it houses many icons.
Mixing a song is a hell of a job as it requires time and professionalism to pull off. Different type of sounds are being combined to one which bring about a genre.
there are different types of music, ranging from Afro naija songs to hiphop music. personally, i really love hiphop songs.
In the community of afro beats, there are some artistes who stand out. people who are amazing and talented in the musical industry to perform Abracadabra with the mic even with their eyes closed. Some of these people who really stand out and make real music is the likes of Burna boy, Wiskid, 2 face and the likes. These are people, who in my opinion, impacted the the music industry with factual lyrics.
Sadly, nowadays, the music industry do not speak anything tangible, just big ass, cute boobs and how they plan to lay together and get some heads with multiple comes. tsk.. such a wasted beat. This is the major reason i ran away from listening to some afro music.
inarguably, the beats are really catchy as they tend to make your head nod involuntarily, feats tap on the floor like a person trying to step on a cockroach. however, the lyrics are absolute trash. i prefer the old afro music to the one produced in this timeline.
Not trying to be judgemental here, but to me, a music is said to be good if the lyrics are meaningful and in rythm with the beat. Maybe i listen to too much of Eminem thats why. haha.
In this space, every one have their favorite afro naija artiste. i am not excluded. though the new generation of artistes are actually singing trash, there are some who are actually good with the mic.
my favorite is not actually from the new artistes, but from the ones who have been in the the industry for quite a while now.
my favorite artiste is.... drum rolls please
BURNA BOY
yeah. He is my favorite artiste.
reason is because, though sometimes he sings about ass and stuff, his lyrics are really great most times. just like when he made a music for the people that were killed in lekki during the end sars protest. He has made many more songs that are really touching to listen to. "Wetin man go do" is another mad jamz that is filled with the reality of life as a man. a man works for other people just to take care of the responsibilities - child, wife, and other things. i would not want to paint him as being all perfect, "on the low" is a song that do not have a very good lyrics, but the song presentation was really good. beat topnotch, rythm great, hooks good and the punchline is good too.
these are the kind of naija music that i deem worthy of listening to. not some zaazu kind of thing. haha
anyways, thank you for reading.
