Week 38 Review

A lot obviously depends on taste.And taste is mostly a function of education.You tend to like the music you grew up with. But then, I do think that there are some objective parameters to judge the real quality of music, and I have clashed dramatically with people who think that there is no way to put objectivity and reason into art.

Despite the risk of being considered a technocrat, I will write down some of these ideas now. I'm not a music scholar, and I'm not the owner of all truth in this world, so don't take the following as an absolute thing.

Take it just as a simple, very incomplete set of ideas and basic facts, put together by yours truly, in a vain attempt to explain why I like some music and not another.
Over the years, I have had many discussions, and even some fights, centered on objective and subjective quality in music. Usually, these fights get started when I complain about my neighbor listening to rock, cumbias, techno, or such at a volume level that forces me to 'enjoy' it too.These discussions have not been a total waste of time. They have led my neighbors, my friends, and me to think about why we like one kind of music, dislike another, and feel indifferent to a third.

@erinhyvin should be in the top 3; her music is soft, tender, sweet, pure, and charming, warming the heart. Most times, people forget what music is all about. That's why I gave that definition, and they also forget what a good melody is, likewise what competition is.But she knows what brought her and what she is actually looking for.

@ovey10 on the other hand is my top one winner why? Because he added his passion to the song. Likewise, @erinhyvin, but @ovey10 did it better. He spoke about reality on the nature of man who thinks he is god tends to spoil what the creator has already made perfect. Just only what is left is for us to tend upon. His rapping skills are very good and I admire that.

There is another guy who spoke Spanish, I guess, or Portuguese. He too is in my top 3. As I am a lover of music, and although we are not God, but a near point of desire should be on everything you put your mind on without looking at the prize to be won.
