What I Want to be in my Next Life

I just recently finished a post on reincarnation. In that post I expressed my desire to be a music prodigy in my next life. This post is to explain maybe why I decided on this. I realize I probably have no say in what my next life will be (if there is reincarnation), but it's fun to hope and dream.

I like to sing, but I can't sing. I like to write song lyrics, but I can't write music. I feel like I'm stuck in between things that I really like to do but am unable to do them to my satisfaction. Sure, I can sing, but it doesn't sound very good. I'm sure I'm not the worse singer in the world, but it's not very good for the public to hear (at least in my opinion). I have this desire to write song lyrics and poems (which also could be song lyrics) but no idea whatsoever on how to write music.

Then one day I saw the movie "August Rush". For some reason it just hit me that that would be a perfect situation for me. Maybe minus the orphanage part. This kid could just pick up music on a whim, nothing to it. I would love to be able to do that. Now, I know there are lots of things in the world I could wish I was like, but this one has stuck with me for a very long time. The movie came out in 2007 but I think I did not watch it until 2012. Regardless, since I have watched the movie, about 11 years ago, I still maintain that is what I'd like to be in my next life. To be able to hear music in everything seems like a gift to me.
If I could write the music myself and sing it myself, then I would not have to depend on the generosity of others to do it for me. Am I good at writing lyrics now? I think I'm okay at it. I don't do it enough because of the trouble to go through to find someone that will take the time to create the tone and write the music.
Now I'm going to go watch the movie August Rush again and dream some more.

I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
