I Think I Saw You in my Dreams

This is some song lyrics that I wrote. I'd like some opinions on it please. I am, by far, not an expert, but I do enjoy trying. I can handle criticism as well as praise, so please be honest. I don't expect it to be like the professionals but for an amateur, what do you think?
Usually, with song lyrics, I let them sit about a week and re-read them. I do that 3, sometimes 4, times, depending on how many changes are made, before I consider it finished.
This time I figured I'd do something different to see how that goes.

Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history.
