Travel Journal: Leipzig (Germany) & Highfield Festival
Me and my girlfriend did a spontaneous trip to Leipzig. The main reason was to go to the Highfield Festival, however, we also had the chance to see a little bit of the city.
We stayed at the Marriott in Leipzig and the hotel was great! The room and the breakfast were amazing:
After checking in, we went to eat dinner at the famous Auerbach Keller. It is the second oldest restaurant in Leipzig and was one of the city’s most important wine bars by the 16th century! It owes its worldwide reputation to Goethe’s play Faust as the first place Mephistopheles takes Faust on their travels. The atmosphere and also the food were outstanding. You should go there!
Here are also some impressions from our walks through the city:
The main reason for this trip was the Highfield Festival. We really liked the lineup. The weather was great and we saw some German bands.
There are also some videos from the festival:
Since we enjoyed some drinks, we really appreciated the late check out the next day. After checking out, we went for a little walk before driving home.
Leipzig seems like a great city and we should come back to see more.
People, come to Germany!

Rooms were managed well and dining tables were beautifully decorated, telling a story of this hotel's staff.

Breakfast and the bar itself were great! Our room was not clean and was missing essential things I would like to have at this prize point: Free bottle of water, iron, fridge, little coffee maker, air conditioning....
