A couple of days ago I read again the amazing Taylor Jenkins Reid in one of her most famous books: "Daisy Jones And The Six" or "Todos Quieren A Daisy Jones" in Latin America, so today I'm going to give you 5 reasons why I think you should read this book.
But as always, let's go point by point.

Hace un par de días volví a leer a la increíble Taylor Jenkins Reid en uno de los que quizá sea de sus libros más famosos: “Daisy Jones And The Six” o “Todos Quieren A Daisy Jones” en Latinoamérica, así que hoy te voy a dar 5 razones por las cuales creo que debes leer este libro.
Pero como siempre, vamos punto por punto.
Taylor Jenkins Reid tells the story of Daisy Jones, a spectacular, defiant and deeply hurt young girl who along with Billy Dunne and his band The Six became the biggest rock group in the 70's. Who after a concert at the height of their career never played together again and decades later have finally decided to give an interview full of unpublished details, mess and music.
Taylor Jenkins Reid nos relata la historia de Daisy Jones, una jovencita espectacular, desafiante y profundamente dolida que junto a Billy Dunne y su banda The Six se convirtieron en el grupo más grande de rock en los 70’s. Quienes tras un concierto en lo más alto de su carrera no volvieron a tocar juntos y décadas después han decidido por fin dar una entrevista llena de detalles inéditos, desorden y música.
It is incredibly easy to read.
It's written in documentary format, meaning each character tells their story in parallel. There are no details of weather or objects, it's one continuous plot so if you find it hard to connect with a book or are in reader's block this one comes in handy. They tell you the story of the band and Daisy from when each started until they come together.
Es increíblemente fácil de leer.
Está escrita en formato de documental, es decir, cada personaje cuenta su historia en paralelo. No hay detalles del clima ni de los objetos, es una continua trama así que si te cuesta conectar con un libro o estás en bloqueo lector este te viene de maravilla. Te cuentan la historia de la banda y de Daisy desde que cada uno comenzó hasta que se unen.
The gray characters.
I loved the build up of each one, and no one is good or bad. Billy I wanted to hug and punch in equal parts every chapter. Karen, the keyboard player, was gruff, strong and very determined, I think she gives voice to a lot of women in a man's world. Daisy is a character that is very similar to Billy and that's why they work so well, since you read them separately you say, "when these people get together they either kill each other or they make the best collaboration the world has ever seen".
Los personajes grises.
Me encantó la construcción de cada uno, y nadie es bueno o malo. A Billy yo lo quería abrazar y golpear a partes iguales cada capítulo. Karen, la tecladista, era ruda, fuerte y muy decidida, creo que le hace voz a muchas mujeres en un mundo de hombres. Daisy es un personaje que se parece mucho a Billy y por eso funcionan tan bien, desde que los lees por separado dices: “cuando esta gente se una o se matan entre ellos o hacen la mejor colaboración que ha visto el mundo”.
It is a music book that is about music (and there is a lot of gossip hahahaha).
This is a personal thing, but I really, really dislike it when a book is about people studying, playing sports, skating, dancing, etc., and they never do it! That's why I quite liked "Daisy Jones And The Six". They go on tour, they sing, they write, they tweak the songs, they record, they rehearse... The music is the center of the book and Taylor Jenkins Reid respected that from the beginning to the end where she attaches the songs in the book to you.
Es un libro de música que sí trata sobre música (y hay mucho chisme jajajaja).
Esto ya es personal, pero me desagrada muchísimo cuando un libro trata sobre personas que estudian, hacen deporte, patinan, bailan, etc, ¡y nunca lo hacen! Por eso “Daisy Jones And The Six” me gustó bastante. Van de gira, cantan, escriben, ajustan las canciones, graban, ensayan… La música es el centro del libro y Taylor Jenkins Reid lo respetó desde el inicio hasta el final en el que te adjunta las canciones del libro.
And yes, there is a lot of gossip. Even in interviews characters contradict each other and you have to decide who to believe. We know things before another character finds out and sometimes they never even find out. They gave me reading, gossip and music, how could I not like this book?
Y sí, hay mucho chisme. Incluso en las entrevistas los personajes se contradicen y tienes que decidir a quién creerle. Sabemos cosas antes de que otro personaje se entere e incluso a veces no se entera nunca. Me dieron lectura, chisme y música, ¿cómo no me va a gustar este libro?
It has good phrases.
I like books that you can underline and there are funny phrases, love phrases, self-improvement phrases.
Tiene buenas frases.
Me gustan los libros que puedes subrayar y hay frases divertidas, de amor, de superación personal.

I don't think at this point I need a reason five, but here I am going to give you a mini review to convince you to read it.
No creo que a estas alturas necesite una razón cinco, pero aquí te voy a dar una mini reseña para que te convenzas de leerlo.
It's a book that leaves you hungry, even though in between reading about addictions, I felt like the addict was me because I couldn't put it down. I was doing my laundry and I would stop just to read again. I like that you get so into the plot that when it ends you want to know more about them, did they ever talk again? How did they die? Who did they marry? I needed more! The ending left me a little unsatisfied because after the high that the book had been I was expecting an explosive climax but it was pretty uneventful. It's not a life changing book, it's for having a good time, unwinding and feeling like a Rock Star.
Es un libro que deja con hambre, aunque entre la lectura se hable de adicciones, sentía que la adicta era yo porque no lo lograba soltar. Estaba lavando mi ropa y paraba solo para volver a leer. Me gusta que entras tanto en la trama que cuando termina quieres saber más de ellos, ¿hablaron de nuevo alguna vez? ¿Cómo murieron? ¿Con quién se casaron? ¡Necesitaba más! El final me dejó un poco insatisfecha porque después del subidón que había sido el libro esperaba un clímax explosivo pero fue bastante tranquilo. No es un libro que te cambie la vida, es para pasarlo bien, desconectar y sentirte una estrella de Rock.
