Spyro's Lofty Castle Gets Drum & Bassified

We're still in the realms of the Space Adventure today although the inspiration from this track came from "loftier" places...

That is, the Lofty Castle background music from everyone's favourite purple dragon - Spyro!

I don't know if you played this iconic game from the 90s but in more recent times, it was remastered with better graphics and was available on Steam for some PC gaming!

At the time during the peak of the pandemic in the UK, I remember seeing the trilogy at half price in the store along with the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and thought, why not get them all!

Anyway, for reference, here is the soundtrack to Spyro Reignited - Lofty Castle:

It's funny how some people get so riled in the comments section about this version compared to the more "rock and roll" original from the 90s version of the game.

Personally, I like the newer version, seems more dreamy and ambient which is more my style, particularly when you want to make a drum and bass inspired track!

The level itself was set high amongst the clouds, hence the name of the level I presume, and it fit nicely in to the Space Adventure EP.

Castle got some good feedback from non-producer friends so I decided to make a long and short version (the short version for submission to BBC Introducing but they never played it out - sad face).

So here's the longer version for you to enjoy and maybe the fairies will be on your side...?
